Do you know your dense breast status?

Nearly half of women over 40 have dense breasts—and while dense breasts are completely normal, they can make breast cancer harder to detect on a mammogram. Plus, they are associated with a higher risk of breast cancer.

This , we’re sharing what breast density means, how to find out if you have dense breasts, and what to know about screening options.

Research is working toward better detection for everyone. BCRF-supported scientists are studying new imaging technologies, including contrast-enhanced mammography, to help improve breast cancer detection in women with dense breasts.
