The University of Minnesota Foundation is grateful to the Will to Cure ALD Foundation for a $100,000 gift supporting Dr. Troy Lund's research on Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a rare and often fatal genetic disease. Will to Cure ALD was founded by the Hall family, whose son, William, was diagnosed with ALD as a newborn, and whose mother, Taylor, was later diagnosed as well.

Turning fear into action, the family launched their foundation in late 2024 and has since raised over $3 million to accelerate ALD research nationwide. This gift will fund two projects at the University of Minnesota focused on the next phase of Gene Therapy 2.0: improving the safety of lentiviral gene delivery and increasing cell correction efficiency, both critical steps toward a safer, more effective treatment.

The Hall family believes that urgency, bold funding, and collaboration can change the trajectory of ALD for patients and families everywhere. We're honored to be part of this work and to help carry it forward.

When youth have access to safe, engaging learning experiences, they gain the confidence to lead on the trail and in their communities.

Thanks to the long-standing partnership between Polaris and Minnesota 4-H a new digital learning experience, ATV Adventure Academy: Trailblazers (https://bit.ly/3SQTLCY), is expanding access to foundational ATV safety education for young people across Minnesota and beyond.

This collaboration has already reached more than 800,000 youth through hands‑on training, curriculum development, and multi‑state program pilots. Trailblazers builds on that momentum, offering an accessible entry point for youth exploring responsible riding.
