Highpoint Center for Printmaking

Highpoint Center for Printmaking is dedicated to advancing the art of printmaking. Most work is offered for sale to the public.

Located in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood of Minneapolis, Highpoint Center for Printmaking occupies 10,000 square feet and is a street level facility facing Lake Street. Highpoint Center for Printmaking provides the following opportunities:

* Educational Programming & Community Programs for all ages and backgrounds in printmaking.
* A Printshop Cooperative which provides access for local artists to create and show their work in a supportive workshop environment.
* A Visiting Artists Program—local, national and international in scope—through which invited artists create original prints under guidance and support of a Master Printer.
* A Gallery that enables visitors to view exhibitions of local, national, and international prints.

Burning Desert is a series of screenprints by Horacio Devoto exploring the psychological terrain of living amid collapsing ecosystems and accelerating technologies.

Drawing on imagery of extreme heat, combustion, and ecological erosion, the work combines layered photography, generated imagery, and hand-printed surfaces to evoke the anxiety of irreversible change.

For years, Lindsay Walker has brought her students to Highpoint — creating opportunities for young artists to step into a professional print studio and see what’s possible.

Students are able to witness artworks in the gallery that they’ve learned about at school. And their time in the Highpoint classroom builds confidence, curiosity, and helps students see themselves as part of a larger creative community.

We are honored to be part of these formative experiences and the paths they open up for many young people.

Free Ink Day is back! Saturday, October 24, we’re going all in on Fall with hands-on screenprinting inspired by spooky-season imagery. Stop by to make your own print, experiment with screenprinting, and get in the spirit with us.

Free, drop-in, and open to all ages. No experience needed, and all materials are provided.

Introducing the Corridor Gallery!

We’re turning an underused hallway into a new space for our co-op members to share their work. Similar to our Threshold Gallery, the Corridor Gallery offers another way to experience the range of artists in our community.

Our inaugural exhibition, Rhythm: Restrict/Expand, features prints by co-op member Beth Dorsey, and is now on view through January 2, 2027.

Next time you’re at Highpoint, take a moment to explore the new space and spend some time with Beth's vibrant works.

Applications are open for the McKnight Printmaking Fellowship!

The McKnight Printmaking Fellowship supports Minnesota-based printmakers with an unrestricted $25,000 award and a year of access to Highpoint’s print shop, resources, and professional community.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the opening of Printing Black America. It was a beautiful celebration of and Shraddha Ramani's monumental project. The exhibition is on view in our galleries now through November 14.

Hend Al-Mansour first came to Highpoint in 2008 as a self-taught printmaker, and quickly found a space for exploration and growth.

Over time, printmaking became central to Hend’s practice, influencing large-scale installations and textile-based work rooted in themes of identity and women’s authority. Hend also played an integral role in developing Highpoint’s artist programs as an inaugural member of the Full Color Fellow Steering Committee.

Hend remains an important part of the Highpoint community. Their story reflects the many ways artists stay connected over time.

Meet our September Open Studio guest artist!

Next Monday, September 28, join Bella Hall for an exploration of screen-printed monotypes using watercolor, transparent base, shapes, and stencils. Participants will experiment with different materials and techniques to create unique images. For Bella, play and community are at the heart of making—and this session is an invitation to do that together!
