Dave Glover is a Special Olympics Minnesota legend. For nearly 50 years, he dedicated countless hours to our community as a volunteer, teacher, and friend.

Dave’s time with Special Olympics began in 1978 when he became a coach with the Red Wing delegation. From there, his enthusiasm for our movement grew. Dave played an integral role in Summer Games Track & Field, overseeing staging for decades, always with a kind word of encouragement for our athletes. He helped shape the foundation of Athlete Leadership by co-authoring seven Athlete Leadership curriculums, including Global Messenger, and instructing more than 30 courses. His lifelong commitment to inclusion, education, and empowering our athletes leaves a legacy that will inspire generations of Special Olympics athletes, families, and volunteers for years to come. We are deeply grateful for all he gave to our movement and the countless lives he touched along the way.

The fifth annual Move for Inclusion is right around the corner on October 3! With yard games, food trucks, and a 1.1-mile walk, run, or roll around Lake Cornelia in Edina, there is something for everyone. Move for Inclusion is family-friendly, supports Special Olympics Minnesota, gets participants outside, and is a whole lot of fun!

We had so much fun at the Summer Sports Classic last weekend! Delegations from across the state came together to compete in softball and bocce. We saw incredible displays of athleticism and sportsmanship. 🥎🔴

As always, we couldn’t have done any of it without our dedicated volunteers! From coaches to event volunteers, this movement is made possible by our generous, talented community. ♥️
