Youth Leaders Camp 2026
Y’all, we had these babies out on wide open land, playing, breathing fresh air, and phones put up!
We spent time learning how to find Scripture in the Bible and used interactive games to create awareness around the differences in how we communicate, how we interpret what is being communicated, and how much our body language communicates without us ever saying a word.
We fished. We ate. We built a fire and roasted s’mores. We created art. We worked together to set up tents and supplies. And even though the raccoons and coyotes strongly encouraged us to move the overnight portion indoors, we still got the experience!
Nature is beautiful. God allows us to see so much of His splendor through it.
There is also something that happens when we get away from the busyness, constant noise, phones and everyday distractions. Our bodies get an opportunity to slow down. Our nervous systems can begin to regulate. We can breathe, notice what is around us, connect with one another and simply be present.
Youth leadership and development doesn’t only happen sitting in a classroom. Sometimes it looks like a fishing pole, a tent that has to be figured out together, learning to communicate, opening a Bible, sitting around a fire, laughing, getting your hands dirty and experiencing something you may not normally get to experience.
This was Youth Leaders Camp and we are grateful for every opportunity to create spaces where our youth can learn, grow, experience God’s creation and just be kids.
