Our prevention team partners with schools across Midland County to teach kids how to stay safe and what to do if they ever experience abuse.

Throughout the year, we’ll share snippets of these lessons as reminders of the important conversations you can continue having with the children in your life. Preventing child abuse and neglect starts with education, and this program is a vital part of our mission.

Today’s focus: The 3 Types of Touch.

In this lesson, students learn about safe touch, unsafe touch, and unwanted touch and how to recognize the difference. It’s all about helping kids understand their right to personal boundaries and empowering them to know when and how to ask for help from a safe adult.

Thanks to support from the Midland Area Youth Impact Partnership, our staff at the Midland Child Advocacy Center brings these important lessons directly into classrooms.

We are so thankful for our partnership with M-20 Animal Hospital - they provide ongoing medical care, including monthly preventatives to our Facility Dog, Basil! Today Basil received a clean bill of health and absolutely LOVED meeting the staff, techs, and doctor. Here she was patiently awaiting their return to the exam room.💚💙🐾
