🧡 Meet Christina Shafer — our new YoungLives Coordinator!

We’re so excited to welcome Christina to Midland Young Life. Christina and her husband have been raising their four children in Midland since 2009. With a heart for discipleship, relationships, and helping people grow closer to Jesus, she’s excited to walk alongside young moms and their families and share the hope of Christ.

She can’t do it alone! Here are three ways YOU can jump in:

Our flamingos have been BUSY this month! They’ve been flocking yards, causing a little chaos, and having way too much fun. 😂

But even our hardworking birds are starting to dream about vacation. ✈️🌴 They’ll be OFF DUTY after September 11, but there’s still time to send them on one last mission!

As a new school year begins, we’re praying for our students. 💙

For the student walking into a new school, a new classroom, or a new season.
For the student who is excited, and the one who is nervous.
For the student who feels like they belong, and the one still wondering where they fit.

We’re praying for courage when things feel hard, friends who make room at the table, teachers who see beyond the surface, and moments when students are reminded that they are known, valued, and deeply loved.

And we’re praying that our students would encounter Jesus in the middle of ordinary school days—through relationships, conversations, and people who show them what His love looks like.

Here’s to a new school year. We’re praying, believing, and ready to see what God will do. 🙏📚💙

🦩 ONE WEEK. COUNTLESS FLAMINGOS. ZERO REGRETS. 😂

Our birds have been at it for a whole week, and we are LOVING hearing about all the fun people have had with their surprise flocks!

Some lawns have been flocked. Some people have been caught completely off guard. And our flamingos? They’re clearly having the time of their lives. 🦩😎

Pizza with Horses was the perfect way to wrap up our YoungLives Pizza in the Park summer! 🍕🐴

Our final Thursday night was a fan favorite! Our families enjoyed pizza, time together, and the chance to learn about horses and experience them up close. There may have even been a few new horse lovers by the end of the night! 😉

A huge THANK YOU to Jeff and Tricia at Starry Meadow Arabians for being the best hosts and welcoming our families so warmly. We’re so grateful for you! 💚

We’ve loved our Thursday nights together this summer, and Pizza with Horses was a pretty great way to finish! 🐴🍕☀️

🦩🚨 Public Service Announcement: The flamingos are stretching, fluffing their feathers, and preparing for takeoff.

In ONE WEEK, they'll begin appearing on lawns all over Midland... and honestly, no yard is safe. 😎

We're halfway through an incredible week at WyldLife camp! 💚

The friendships are growing, the laughter is loud, and we're praying that God continues to move in powerful ways.

Would you join us in praying today?

☀️ Pray for the weather to cooperate so our kids can experience all the outdoor adventures that make camp so unforgettable.

❤️ Pray for students to settle into cabin time, open up, and build meaningful friendships with their cabinmates and leaders.

👂 Pray that distractions would fade away and that every kid would engage with the message they're hearing—that they are deeply known, valued, and loved by God.

We're so grateful for this community that continues to cheer these kids on. We can't wait to share the stories of what God is doing at camp!
