Today is Black Balloon Day - a day that carries a lot of weight for many families and communities.
Each black balloon represents a life lost to overdose. But behind every balloon is so much more than a statistic. It represents a son or daughter, a parent, a sibling, a friend. Someone who made people laugh, who had dreams, who was loved deeply and is missed every single day.
Today we pause to remember them.
At Hope Lane Foundation, we hold space for the grief that comes with this kind of loss. We see the families still learning how to live with the silence left behind. We honor the people whose lives were taken too soon, and we stand beside those still fighting their way through addiction and toward recovery.
