Congratulations Varsha, winner of the 2026 Department of Virginia Oratorical Contest!

After advancing through the Post, District, and Regional levels of competition, Varsha rose to the top among some of the brightest students in the Commonwealth.

Varsha will now represent the Commonwealth of Virginia at the National Finals at Hillsdale College, May 15–17, 2026.

All of us at Post 295 are incredibly proud of your achievement and wish you the very best as you compete on the national stage

We want to thank everyone who came out today to honor our veterans and celebrate our Hometown Heroes Banner Ceremony. Your presence made the day truly special. From the heartfelt speeches by family members to the beautiful tributes shared throughout the morning, today reminded us what community, remembrance, and gratitude are all about.

A sincere thank-you to our volunteers, families, and guests who helped make this event possible—and to all who have served, we honor you today and always.

Join Us in Honoring Our Hometown Heroes!

The Middleburg American Legion invites you to our Hometown Heroes Banner Celebration as we honor the Veterans of Middleburg and surrounding communities, this Saturday, November 8th, 10am at the light pole in front of Middleburg Community.

This is a heartfelt tribute to those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. Families, friends, and community members—all are welcome to share in this moment of respect and gratitude.

We’re incredibly proud to have Helena representing Virginia, and Middleburg American Legion Post 295, this week at American Legion Auxiliary Girls Nation in Washington, D.C.

After being selected from hundreds of participants across Virginia at ALA VA Girls State, she is now representing the Commonwealth at the national level.

Girls Nation is a once-in-a-lifetime leadership program where top students from around the country come together to learn about the federal government, write and debate legislation, and visit key sites like Arlington National Cemetery and Capitol Hill. Only 2 delegates from each state are selected to attend this prestigious national leadership program.
Throughout the week, delegates from across the country will participate in mock Senate sessions, visit national landmarks, and gain invaluable insights into how our government works.

It came down to the wire on Friday at Mickie Gordon Memorial Park, as Post 295 Commanders grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 3-2, over Post 21 Wi******er. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the ninth when #3 Jake O'Donnell singled, scoring one run.

Post 295 advances to 7-3 with one game remaining prior to the District playoffs.

Kick off the Independence Day weekend with America's pastime - baseball, tonight at Mickie Gordon.

Whether you’re playing, cheering, or volunteering, you’re participating in something greater. You’re continuing a legacy of community service and civic pride that lives at the heart of the American Legion and the heart of Middleburg.

Tomorrow we'll be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers at Middleburg's 4th of July celebration to raise funds for our youth initiatives. Come out and see us.
