A note from our President -
I couldn’t be more proud of every one of our teams that showed up and played their hearts out today. 💚🏈
It’s not always about wins and losses — it’s about showing up, fighting, and battling until the final whistle.
Our 12U team had just 12 players today. Twelve — for 11-man football. Those kids played nearly all 40 minutes with little to no break, and they never quit.
I couldn’t be prouder of those 12, but I hate that they were put in that position.
Football is a TEAM commitment, and that commitment includes parents. Your child cannot get themselves to practice or games — they depend on YOU to get them there. And their teammates depend on you, too.
When players don’t show up, it affects everyone. It affects what coaches can teach, how the team develops, and most importantly, it can affect player safety.
Life happens. We understand that. But outside of circumstances we truly cannot control, if your child commits to a football team, please make getting them to practices and games a priority. Other kids should not have to carry the physical burden because their teammates aren’t there.
To our 12U players — you showed exactly what being a teammate means today. We are incredibly proud of you.
And a huge THANK YOU to our coaches who continue giving their time, energy, and hearts to these kids. We see you and appreciate you.
Seeing this post below from a Hammond Redhawks 12U opponent that played our Valpo 12U team today meant more than any win today.
You showed us exactly what it means to be a Viking today full of heart and grit, 12U - and so did our other teams that have dealt with these same difficult attendance issues this season.
Keep those heads up and be proud for always showing up and giving 150% to your team.
