On a gray, drizzly day, what’s the best way to brighten things up? An adoption, of course.

Sweet little Drizzle worked her magic and melted the hearts of these two wonderful ladies in no time. A gloomy day turned into the happiest one as she headed off to her forever home.

Happy Gotcha Day, Drizzle — the sun came out just for you 🌧️💗🐾

💗 Sabine Found Her Family! 💗

Later in the day yesterday, a woman stopped by just to spend some time with the kitties… and one sweet girl immediately stole her heart: Sabine.

Today, she returned — with the whole family in tow — and it didn’t take long for everyone to fall in love all over again. Sabine soaked up every bit of attention like she already knew these were her people.

This wonderful family recently moved to Indiana, and now Sabine gets to join them as they all settle into their new home together. New state, new house, new routines — and now, a new furry family member to share it all with.

Congratulations to Sabine and her amazing new family.
Here’s to fresh starts, full hearts, and a lifetime of love ahead. 🐾💛

✨ When One Kitten Becomes Two… or Three? ✨

Some adoptions are straightforward.
And then… there are the kitten‑powered plot twists. 😸

Yesterday, a lovely couple came in and absolutely fell in love with Nimbus, our black‑and‑white cloud of mischief. While the wife was finishing up the paperwork, I was told they’d be back another time to find Nimbus a companion.

Simple enough, right?

Well… not according to the kittens.

While the wife was signing, the husband was in the kitten room getting “helped” by the remaining fluffballs. When we went back to take their adoption photo with Nimbus, the couple started chatting about one of Nimbus’ sisters… then another sister… then back to the first one… then maybe the second one again…

They finally picked one!
We got the picture taken!
Everything was settled!

And then that kitten said:
“NOPE. I’m not leaving today.”
(Full dramatic refusal. Classic.)

But while that was happening, a third kitten — Navy, not even related — casually climbed into the cardboard carrier with Nimbus, made himself comfortable, and basically declared:

“Hi. I live here now.”

And honestly? He wasn’t wrong.

So Nimbus went home… with Navy, the self‑appointed brother who chose him.

Because sometimes the humans pick the kitten…
And sometimes the kitten picks the humans and the kitten.

💙 Congratulations to Nimbus and Navy — the duo none of us saw coming, but all of us adore.

💛 Adoption Spotlight: Nico’s Happy Twist! 💛

Sometimes the stars line up just right.

A wonderful family had their hearts set on meeting Nico this weekend, but couldn’t make it to our big adoption day on Friday. They arrived today hoping—just hoping—that their favorite little guy was still waiting.

And guess what? He was! 🐾

The moment they saw him, it was pure joy all around. Nico trotted right up like he’d been saving his best purrs just for them. Now he’s officially headed home with his new family, ready for cuddles, adventures, and all the love he deserves.

Congratulations, Nico! You waited patiently, and it paid off in the sweetest way. 💕🐱

🐾❤️ A love like Courtney’s doesn’t end. It simply finds new ways to care for those left behind.

Recently, we were honored to receive a generous $500 donation of supplies made in memory of Courtney Bradford. Her father and sister stopped by with food, litter, and other essentials, sharing with us that Courtney absolutely adored cats and wanted her love for them to continue making a difference.

In rescue, we see every day how kindness can change lives. Thanks to this incredible gift, cats and kittens in our care will receive the food, comfort, and things they need while they wait for families of their own.

Though we never had the privilege of knowing Courtney, it’s easy to see the kind of heart she had. A heart that loved deeply. A heart that cared for the smallest and most vulnerable. A heart whose compassion continues to touch lives even now.

To Courtney’s family, thank you for allowing us to be a small part of honoring her memory. We promise that every can opened and every litter box filled will be a reminder that Courtney’s love lives on, one purr at a time.

Please join us in remembering Courtney Bradford and keeping her loved ones in your thoughts. ❤️

“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved, we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” 🐾

Azure a gorgeous female gray won this families heart. Mom & Dad opted out of photo and let this young man to stand alone. However it was dad who was cuddling and carrying Azure around. Hoping for a successful forever and knowing this has to be the best Fathers day gift ever!

✨Today was a double‑happy adoption day, and our hearts are absolutely full.🐾

Ladle
Our last little Utensil kitten — the final spoonful of sweetness after yesterday’s big adoption day — found her forever home today. She waited so patiently while all her siblings were chosen, and today it was finally her turn. Ladle melted right into her new family’s arms like she’d been waiting for them all along.

☁️ Wisp
From our Cloud litter, tiny Wisp floated right into the hearts of a wonderful adopter. Soft, gentle, and a little dreamy, Wisp has always had that “pick me up and love me” energy. Today, someone did exactly that. Two different litters, two perfect matches, one very joyful day.💛

Happy forever, Ladle and Wisp. Your new adventures start now.

First, my apologies for the late adoption announcement today. Technology and I are currently in a very complicated relationship, and today it chose violence. 😅

Anyhoo…today was another fantastic adoption day at Fried’s! ❤️

Congratulations to Knife, Whisk, Spoon, Spatula, Fork, Spork, Denim, Katydid, Colette, Indigo, Haze, Squall, and foster-failure-turned-forever-family-member Weevil on finding their happily ever afters! 🎉🐾

That’s THIRTEEN lucky kittens heading home to start their next chapter with families of their very own.

A huge thank you to everyone who adopted, shared our posts, and continues to support our rescue in every little way.

And don’t worry… we still have plenty of wonderful cats and kittens waiting for their turn!

Come visit us tomorrow and Sunday from 12 PM - 4 PM. Your new best friend might be waiting for you. ❤️🐱

I promised Puddles that if he kept fighting, I’d fight right alongside him.

And he did.

Right up until he couldn’t anymore.

Despite our very best efforts, Puddles passed away last night.

His tiny body had been through more than any kitten should ever have to endure. We gave him everything we had to give: veterinary care, medications, warmth, food, prayers, hope, and more love than he could possibly have known what to do with.

In the end, he slipped away peacefully in my arms.

Not on the side of a road.

Not alone.

Not wondering if anyone cared.

In my arms.

Loved.

Sometimes rescue isn’t about saving a life. Sometimes it’s about making sure that life matters while it’s here.

Puddles mattered.

And for the short time he was with us, he was cherished beyond measure.

Goodbye, little man. Thank you for letting us love you.

I try very hard to keep our page lighthearted. I want people to smile when they see our posts. I want you to laugh at the antics of orange kittens named Knife, celebrate adoptions, and be reminded that there is still a lot of good in the world.

But every once in a while, we need to talk about the side of rescue that people rarely see.

This is Puddles.

Sweet, sweet Puddles.

Puddles was found by a kindhearted person who simply didn’t know what to do and reached out for help on Facebook. Instead of support, she was met with criticism and rude comments. That’s not okay. When people are trying to help an animal in need, they deserve compassion, not judgment.

When our Director saw the post, she knew we had to try.

By chance, I had an opening in my office condo because Knife and Whisk have graduated to the big kitten room and are ready for adoption. So Puddles came to us.

We immediately got him veterinary care and started treatment.

And friends… he is sick.

Very sick.

He is painfully thin. He’s exhausted. His tiny body is fighting battles that no baby should ever have to fight. Every meal is a challenge. Every minute is a question mark.

But here’s the thing about Puddles.

He still purrs.

He still leans into pets.

He still looks at us with those little eyes and chooses to keep trying.

So we’re going to keep trying too.

I am doing everything humanly possible to save this little boy, and I will fight right alongside him with everything I’ve got.

Rescue isn’t always happy endings and adoption photos. Sometimes it’s syringe feedings, medications, sleepless nights, and desperately hoping that tomorrow is a little better than today.

Sometimes it’s falling in love with a kitten whose future you can’t predict.

And if I’m being honest, every time one of these cases comes through our doors, it takes a little more out of you emotionally than the last one.

So tonight, we’re asking for prayers, good vibes, positive thoughts, crossed fingers, lucky charms, and whatever else you’ve got.

For Puddles.

And maybe a little bit for the people who love him already.
