✨ A Happy Ending for Magic & Nimbus ✨

A few months ago, a family found two tiny kittens all alone. Wanting to do what was best for them, but knowing they were too young to care for on their own, they brought the little pair to Fried's Cat Shelter. The family named them Magic and Nimbus, and they quickly stole the hearts of everyone who met them.

Over the next 2-3 months, Magic and Nimbus grew from fragile little babies into healthy, playful, and affectionate young cats. But there was something special about their story... the family who rescued them never forgot about them.

Today, the mother returned to the shelter with a wonderful surprise in mind. After watching these kittens grow from afar, she decided it was finally time to bring them home. Magic and Nimbus were adopted together and are now headed back to the very family that gave them a second chance from the very beginning.

Stories like this remind us that sometimes the best endings come full circle. ❤️

Thank you to this caring family for stepping in when Magic and Nimbus needed help most, and for opening your hearts and home to them once again.

Apparently, one kitten photocopying his undercarriage has somehow led to us considering an entire calendar dedicated to cats with absolutely no regard for their own dignity.

And judging by the photos you’ve already submitted, Ritchie is FAR from the only feline in need of an HR intervention. 😭🤣

SO. HERE WE GO.

📸 WE ARE OFFICIALLY ACCEPTING PHOTO SUBMISSIONS FOR THE POTENTIAL FRIED’S AFTER DARK 2027 CALENDAR!

We’re currently waiting on production quotes to determine whether we can realistically make this ridiculous masterpiece happen. BUT, if we’re going to pull this off in time for Christmas, we need to get our ducks in a row. Or, apparently, our cats in compromising positions.

🚨 A MESSAGE FROM UPPER MANAGEMENT. 🚨

Hello, peasants. Ritchie here. 🐾

First, I’d like to welcome the almost 3,000 new followers who have joined us this weekend.

Apparently, one cannot photocopy one’s undercarriage in peace anymore.

OVER TWO MILLION VIEWS AND COUNTING. INTERNATIONALLY.

I WAS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A FEW BUCKS. 😭

Now my personal business is EVERYBODY’S business, Brittany can’t keep up with the comments, and I’ve apparently become an international celebrity.

Naturally, I’ve promoted myself to management.

As you can see, I’m currently supervising Brit from my executive office. Her head.

Her assignment? Researching the feasibility of this ridiculous 2027 Fried’s After Dark calendar you people have somehow convinced us to consider.

I suggested using the office photocopier.

She said no.

We’re a nonprofit, no-kill cat shelter in Michigan City, Indiana, where the cats are shameless, the employees are exhausted, and apparently nobody thought to password-protect the photocopier.

We try to keep things lighthearted around here. Life is stressful enough, and if our daily nonsense makes you laugh, even for a moment, we’ve done something wonderful.

But sometimes we’ll make you cry, too.

Because behind the questionable workplace behavior and unsolicited feline anatomy lessons, there’s a side of rescue that isn’t always pretty.

Sick kittens. Frightened cats. Heartbreaking goodbyes. Animals who’ve never known kindness.

We believe in showing you those moments, too, because shelter work isn’t always glamorous.

Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s heartbreaking. Sometimes it’s beautiful.

And sometimes your supervisor photocopies his bu****le 12 times and becomes an international celebrity.

IT’S CALLED BALANCE. 💅

But seriously, thank you for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown our little shelter.

END-OF-DAY ADOPTION UPDATE ❤️🐾

Sometimes the best news waits until the very end of the day.

Today, Sacha and Kayak packed up their matching tabby-and-tortie attitudes and headed home together. 🏡

Teenage kittens often get overlooked while the tiny babies steal the spotlight. They're past the "look how small I am" stage and fully entering the "let me show you my whole personality" phase. But today, someone saw exactly what we see: two wonderful cats who were worth waiting for.

Looking at this photo, it almost feels like Sacha and Kayak are thinking, "Wait... you're telling us we get our own humans, our own couch, AND unlimited snack negotiations?"

The answer is yes, friends. Yes, you do.

We're especially happy they get to stay together. After all, every teenager needs a partner in crime, someone to blame for the knocked-over water glass, and a witness when they insist they were fed "at least three days ago."

Tonight two hearts are a little fuller, and one family just got a lot furrier.

Happy adoption day, Sacha and Kayak. We can't wait to hear about all the trouble... we mean adventures... ahead. ❤️🐱🐱

We almost forgot to post our 2nd adoption of the day.

Some fonts are bold. Some are elegant. Some are unforgettable. And **Calibri** turned out to be all three. 💕

Named after the beloved font and part of our font-themed litter, Calibri has officially found her forever home! This fluffy little girl charmed everyone she met with her gorgeous coat, curious spirit, and picture-perfect poses.

Today, she traded shelter life for a lifetime of cozy naps, window watching, and being adored by her new family. We couldn't be happier for her as she begins this exciting new chapter.

Thank you to her adopters for opening your hearts and home to this sweet girl. We know Calibri's future is going to be written in the most beautiful font possible: **loved.** ❤️

🧡 JUAN HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!!! 🧡

Somehow, between Ritchie’s photocopier scandal and our shelter turning into a feline entertainment empire, WE HAD AN ADOPTION! 🎉

Meet Juan, our handsome little orange storm survivor!

Juan came to us as an itty-bitty baby, and when that horrific derecho rolled through, he was absolutely TERRIFIED all alone in quarantine. So I scooped him up, and we rode out Mother Nature’s temper tantrum together. 🥹❤️

Fast-forward to today, and Juan has officially found his forever family!

He once needed someone to hold him through the chaos. Now he gets to bring a lifetime of love, comfort, and completely unnecessary orange-cat chaos to his new home. 🧡

From surviving a derecho to becoming a permanent household disturbance.

It all started with one kitten, one photocopier, and 99 VERY questionable glamour shots.

Ritchie exposed his entire fuzzy undercarriage to over ONE MILLION people, and instead of demanding an apology, an alarming number of you asked WHERE YOU COULD BUY A COPY. 😭💀

We have some concerns about this community.

But we also have cats to feed, vet bills to pay, and apparently a budding feline modeling agency to manage.

These prices are just our best guesses right now! We haven’t worked out the cost of production yet, so nothing is set in stone. If we decide to move forward, we’ll announce official pricing once we’ve received printing quotes and figured out the expenses.

Both versions would feature a mix of Fried’s residents and YOUR fabulous felines, with hilarious captions and plenty of questionable poses.
