Our Vice President Elect, Michelle Whitworth, represented our chapter in Washington, D.C. for IREM's Day on the Hill: a 3-day advocacy push that had her walking more than 23 miles between congressional offices.

Michelle met directly with Rep. David Kustoff and with Rep. Trent Kelly's Chief of Staff, Paul Howell, carrying our industry's voice on two bills that matter to property management professionals:
• The Respect State Housing Laws Act: removes an outdated federal 30-day eviction-notice mandate on federally backed housing, restoring state and local notice timelines.
• The Revitalizing Downtowns and Main Streets Act: a federal tax incentive to convert vacant office space into much-needed residential units.

This is the kind of work that shapes the rules our members operate under every day. Thank you, Michelle, for representing Memphis property management on Capitol Hill!
