After 17 years behind one of the the chairs at Twist Salon, Candice White was faced with an unexpected transition when the salon announced it would be closing its doors. Having worked alongside her daughter Margo for the previous two years, the duo chose to view the change not as an ending, but as an opportunity to create something uniquely their own.
On April 3, they began transforming an empty salon space, completing the renovation work themselves and pouring their passion into every detail. Their goal was to create a relaxed, welcoming environment where both men and women could enjoy exceptional salon and barber services.
More than just a salon and barbershop, Shear & Whiskey is designed to be a place where guests genuinely enjoy spending time. The business is currently accepting bookings ahead of its grand opening on July 1 and is actively looking to grow its team with two barbers and three stylists.
In the coming months, Shear & Whiskey also plans to enhance the guest experience by offering beer, cider, whiskey, and non-alcoholic options such as dirty sodas while clients relax and enjoy their appointments. The business is currently working with the OLCC to obtain the necessary licensing.
Be sure to welcome to downtown McMinnville and keep an eye out for their grand opening celebration on July 1!
