💚 Beyond Backpacks 2026 was a tremendous success, and Traveling Light Foundation was honored to be part of it once again!

On Saturday, August 15th, Beyond Backpacks helped ensure that 850 students in our community had the school supplies they needed to begin the school year prepared and ready to learn. 🎒📚✏️

Our TLF Board Members and Youth Committee Members were proud to join so many amazing volunteers in supporting this incredible event. The day before, they rolled up their sleeves to help organize and pack supplies, and on the day of the event, they helped make sure those supplies made it into the hands of the students who needed them.

There is something incredibly powerful about a community coming together to invest in its children. 💚 Every backpack, every pencil, every notebook, and every volunteer hour represents the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.

We are deeply grateful to Beyond Backpacks for allowing us to participate again this year and to all the incredible volunteers and organizations who made this event possible. Supporting 850 students is an amazing accomplishment, and we are proud to stand alongside a community that continues to show up for its kids.

Together, we are helping illuminate paths of discovery and innovation through education—one student, one opportunity, and one act of kindness at a time. 💚

💚 Today was a powerful example of what happens when a community comes together. 💚

First and foremost, we want to give a HUGE thank you to First Federal for providing the location and resources that made our Youth Committee-led car wash possible today. Your generosity gave our youth the opportunity to lead, serve, and make a tangible difference in our community. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and belief in our mission!

A special thank you to Les Schwab of McMinnville for generously donating bottled water for our volunteers to keep them hydrated. Your support helped make today even better, and we appreciate you showing up for Traveling Light Foundation. 💚

And to our McMinnville community—WOW. Thank you for showing up, supporting our youth, and giving back to Traveling Light Foundation. Every car washed, every donation, and every word of encouragement helped us move our mission forward.

To our incredible volunteers, thank you for giving your time, energy, and hearts. Without you, none of this would be possible. 💚

Because of YOU, today’s community support generated enough funding to provide an 8th Grade STEM Award OR 1½ Educator Grants!

TLF wishes our MHS Graduates all the best in their future endeavors!

This weekend, members of the TLF Youth Committee spent time at Masonic Cemetery placing flags beside the headstones of Veterans who served our country with courage and sacrifice. It was a small act of gratitude, but one filled with deep respect and remembrance. 💚

We are especially grateful for our Vice President, whose ongoing dedication helps maintain the beauty and care of these sacred grounds year-round.

As we pause this Memorial Day, we hope everyone took a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice — the brave souls who gave all, and the ones gone far too soon. Their service, courage, and legacy will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸💚
