🎉🎊Big Announcement Incoming….🎊🎉

Our hearts (and our hands!) are officially full today! 🥰 While this week has already truly been a whirlwind with personal chaos, Squeak’s raffle and surgery, but we just couldn't say no when one of our local shelters and their Advocates reached out for urgent help and even sent potential foster families our way!!!

And so today, we officially welcomed not one, but TWO precious new foster babies into our rescue program and family!

🐾✨Welcome Eleanor and Aniyah!🐾✨

These sweet souls have safely landed in their wonderful new foster homes, where they are getting all the decompression time, cozy blankets (and shark robes, if your Aniyah, and Pink Bandanna’s if your Eleanor!🥰), and all the belly rubs that they deserve!🏡❤️

Saving lives truly takes a village. We are so incredibly grateful to our local shelters and advocates for working with us, and to our amazing new foster families for opening their hearts and homes on virtually a moment's notice, to save urgent babies whose time was running out. Because of you, these two are safe, warm, and loved tonight and forever more! ❤️🎉❤️

Stay tuned for more official individual introductions and photos of our newest little ones, once they (and us!) get a chance to catch up on some well-deserved down time! 💤

💜💙💜Squeak Update💜💙💜

So if you scroll pics before reading, you see that her report card below isn’t all “Excellent” as we had planned and hoped for, but she’s doing good and we’re now mostly there! 🐾

First and foremost, today’s surgery went well overall, and Squeak did great! But in proven and typical Squeak fashion, she’s full of surprises, or at least had one more up her sleeve! 💅

So let’s recap for a second… if you remember from Squeak’s initial intake, she had some medical issues already addressed while under anesthesia back in July, for her spay. At that time, they lanced and drained an abscess on her rear leg, and went in to remove a “mass/tumor” in her mouth. SURPRISE 1️⃣-Low and behold it was not a mass/tumor, but what was found under that lump, was actually pieces of what’s thought to likely have been be a decaying/rotten tennis ball, that had been stuck in the rear of her mouth and embedded in her gums! This “invasive foreign object” caused her gums to react and then actual grow over top of it. So in that surgery #1, they ran out of time for her to remain safely under anesthesia, to be as thorough as they would have liked. So, it was known to all, that she would need further dental in the near future, when safe to go back under!

It was determined that per Vet’s recommendation and what would be safest for Squeak, her needed eye entropion and teeth cleaning and extractions would wait till October, being 3 months in between anesthesia events.

Fast forward till mid August, changes were noticed in Squeak’s eating habits and breath, so a follow up was rescheduled, knowing dental was an existing issue. So then after recheck evaluation, it was determined Squeak should not wait until October, so surgery was scheduled for today.

Today, all started on track and as planned. Vet tech called this afternoon to check in and provide an update. All was well, everything was done and we’d see you between 4-5:45 for pick up.

So vet tech wasn’t wrong by any means, so please don’t throw any shade, please! All the boxes were checked on the list (✅teeth/jaw X-Rays, ✅Dental cleaning, ✅tooth extraction and ✅eye entropion correction, ✅3 Medications, ✅Eye drops and ✅Surgery cone), but that was high level…not down to and digging in the nitty gritty details.

So we made an update earlier today, based on high level details/check boxes/expectations. Our apologies for doing so, since the finer details do matter and we didn’t think about anything different.

Now Squeak pick up time arrives🎉, we meet foster dad in the parking lot and go in! I pay the bill in full (Thanks to you all…our “Team Squeak”) and foster dad gets the bag of meds and in to an exam room we go to wait for the Vet and to see our beautiful girl Squeak!

Now here comes Squeak’s unexpected SURPRISE 2️⃣! So once she went under anesthesia and they started her dental work first. Well while in there, they found another pocket of hidden and impacted “gunk” to be addressed. He said it was a wad of hair, fur and just gunk that was down in there. So they handled that unexpected surprise and extracted the two teeth that were rotten and decayed back in there, likely secondary from that damn haunting tennis ball! 🎾 So in the meantime, Squeak’s time is ticking away, yet again with unexpected findings, for her to remain and be safely under anesthesia…

So he was able to press on and proceed with her eye entropion surgery, but only on one of her two eyes. He focused on the right eye correction (the worst of the two eyes), but then he had to make a judgement call on timing and whether to press on with eye #2, or have another future anesthesia event. So his judgement call, and one that we 💯 understand, support and agree with, was to stop and not press on and jeopardize her safety by prolonging her under anesthesia time any longer. So we’ll follow up in one month for a new evaluation of her second eye.

In the meantime, everything else has been handled now and she’s expected to make a full recovery with what’s been done so far!

Squeak was happy to see us and was ready to leave, but bless her…you could tell she was still feeling the drugs for sure! And that huge cone…she’s going to give her foster family a fun time for sure these next 10 days that she’s sporting it! 🤦‍♀️

We didn’t take any pics today, as she looks like she could currently be the lead and star of a new Rocky movie, but we’ll share some in the next few days, when she’s feeling a little more put together.

Thank you for reading our update (cough…cough…Book), but we wanted to share a full update!

💜💙💜Squeak’s Quick Update💜💙💜

So we just finally got the call!🎉 Surgery went well and Squeak did great! 🎊. She’s starting to wake up now. We can pick her up after a bit more time, so her Foster Dad and I are meeting there at 4:30. Once we’re there, we’ll get to sit down and speak with the vet directly and go over everything in more detail of course, but in the meantime… everything planned was accomplished today and Squeak did great!

Stay tuned, we’ll do a much more detailed update later this evening.

Thank you! 🫶

Good morning everyone!

So no big updates just yet to share in regards to 💜💙💜Squeak💜💙💜, but a few smaller updates at least, and so that we all know the expected timeline set fourth for the day, and we’re not anxiously sitting on “pins and needles”waiting for her surgery updates!

✅Squeak is at the vets for surgery and settled in and doing just fine. We will get surgery updates later through the day from the vet/techs, likely expected to be mid day/early afternoon. Then at that time of receiving her surgery updates, they’ll also then share a more detailed and specific pickup time, but they did say it’s typically going to be set for closer to 5 PM or so, before we can pick her up.

✅In regards to Squeak’s medical raffle prize, and in all transparency, as always, Madison asked if she could possibly get a different Yeti item, a bit better suited to her personally, for the same/equal value or less of Yeti product(s). So she picked a New “Yeti Camino 35 Carry All 2.0” in her color preference. That Yeti prize is valued at $160 and has already been purchased for her, and is expected to be delivered to her later this week.🎉

Madison has requested that the difference in prize value ($165) remain in the rescue’s budget specifically for anything else for Squeak, and/or for future medical cases specifically, if Squeak has no further needs! So a big thank you, Madison!

So in closing, thank you all so much again for your support! Please stay tuned everyone, we’ll have updates later today, that we’ll be posting as soon as we have them ourselves!

🎟️🎯Squeak’s Medical Funds Raffle🎯🎟️
Daily Update (Tuesday, September 1st, AM):

📌Today is the last day! Raffle ends today and our Facebook “live” drawing will be at 4:30 PM (EST) this afternoon to pick a winner for the new Yeti cooler! 📌

⏰We've got just about 9️⃣ hours left now today, to fully fill our medical goal for Squeak! **LET'S GO TEAM SQUEAK!!!🩵💜🩵💜🩵💜🩵

Currently we are at $9️⃣7️⃣0️⃣ of our $1️⃣2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ Goal! (Thank you all so very much for donating and sharing!🥰)

‼️We have had a super awesome and very generous donor that has come forward with her donation to match, and will continue to match any and all donations, up to $600, for Squeak’s upcoming surgery! 🎉

👀And you know what else?!? She has also decided to give our donors that she is matching funding for, her raffle ticket entries too!!! So in example, if you donate $10 dollars, you’ll receive double your entries (20 raffle ticket entries) in our new Yeti Cooler drawing! 🎊

As a friendly reminder, while Squeak is in her surgery on September 2nd, literally all of her outstanding medical needs will be handled for her! 👏
✅2 of her affected rear teeth will be “level three” extracted
✅She’ll also receive a full dental cleaning of her other teeth
✅Dental x-rays to assess jawbone and surrounding structures
✅She’ll have both eye entropion surgeries done too, to minimize anesthesia events.

So as you can see from our updated flyer below, we still need our community’s help to reach our goal, but we’re almost there!(Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!)👏👏👏

If you can’t donate, that’s okay, we understand, but please share! Sharing is caring and is just as important in helping us achieve our fundraising goal for Squeak’s medical care. 🫶
