Mid-Iowa Community Action - MICA Helping families meet their needs, build on their strengths, and achieve their goals! We are a proud partner of the Food Bank of Iowa.

MICA's foundational programs include: Early Head Start, Head Start, Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Maternal and Child Health, Weatherization, Energy Assistance, and Family Development. MICA primarily serves families in Hardin, Marshall, Poweshiek, Story, and Tama counties. MICA provides some services through the USDA, which is an equal provider, employer, and lender. UPDATED! All MICA offices will be closed next Tuesday morning, June 23rd for an all staff training. Below are the opening schedules for the afternoon.

Marshall County Health Services (WIC) will be opening at 1:15pm.
Story County Family Services Health (WIC) will be opening at 1:30pm.

Poweshiek, Story, Marshall, Hardin and Tama County Family Services will be closed all day. This includes food pantries and energy assistance. .

Marshall County Family Services: 12:30-4pm, with Health Services opening at 1:15pm.
Story County Family Services Health: 1:30pm-4pm

Poweshiek, Story and Tama County Family Services offices will be open 1pm-4pm.

Hardin County Family Services will be closed all day.

The Care for Kids Program is a FREE benefit for all kids and young adults ages 0–21 who receive Medicaid—and MICA is here to make it easier. When someone becomes newly eligible, MICA Care for Kids staff gives you a call to:
