MGSA - Marshalltown Girls Softball Association

09/25/2026

MGSA has made the difficult decision to sit this one out. Based on the projected rain tomorrow morning, we will not walk in the Oktemberfest parade as previously planned. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

🚨 OKTEMBERFEST PARADE PARKING, TRAFFIC & WEATHER REMINDER 🚨

We’re almost to parade time! If you live along the staging area or parade route, please take a look at the map and plan ahead for TOMORROW morning.

🧡 ORANGE/RED = PARADE STAGING AREA
Parade entries will begin staging early Saturday morning. If you live along any of the orange/red highlighted streets, ALL vehicles must be removed from the street by 8:00 AM so we have room to safely line up our parade entries.

Vehicles remaining in the staging area will be relocated.

🩵 BLUE = PARADE ROUTE
The parade steps off at 10:00 AM! If you live along the blue highlighted route, ALL vehicles must be removed from the street by 9:00 AM.

Vehicles remaining on the parade route that are in the way will be relocated.

🚗 AFTER THE PARADE
Parade entries will disembark after reaching the end of the route. If you need to head back west, please use Church Street. If you need to head east, please use Linn Street. Please follow directions from parade volunteers and allow a little extra time as we work to safely clear approximately 100 entries from the route.

🌧️ RAIN OR SHINE
The parade will proceed as scheduled unless lightning is present. If lightning becomes a concern, the Oktemberfest Board will assess the situation and determine the most feasible course of action, including rescheduling or cancellation. Any updates will be communicated as soon as a decision is made.

⏰ QUICK REMINDER:
🧡 Staging area clear by 8:00 AM
🩵 Parade route clear by 9:00 AM
🎉 Parade begins at 10:00 AM

We know the road closures and moving vehicles can be an inconvenience, and we truly appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we work to keep participants, spectators, and our community safe.

We can’t wait to see everyone at the 2026 Oktemberfest Parade! ❤️💙
