Thank you to The Home Depot West Cobb (Store 153) & The Artful Rabbit for sponsoring some kindness!

Home Depot generously donated 45 clay pots/trays, 45 annual flowers & 2 bags of soil for our April service.

The Artful Rabbit, a Kennesaw based small business, graciosly hosted our group while also donating paint & supplies.

Our volunteers hand painted 45 pots with positive messages & good vibes. Jaida placed flowers in all the pots which were then donated to 40 female 1st responders attending a mental health retreat hosted by Project Overwatch.

This simple gesture created genuine smiles for those who serve and protect us on a daily basis. We're so grateful for their strength & dedication to the community.

Special THANKS to our sponsors and our volunteers!

KIDS CARE was grateful to participate in Red Day 2026 at the Governors Gun Club on 5/14. A day of giving back created & hosted by Keller Williams Reality Signature Partners including Mr. Tim Cowan of Tim Cowan Real Estate.

This awesome team of Keller Williams representatives hosted 45 local nonprofits, plus the Red Cross who held a blood drive and so much more! The event was open to the public with the mission of spreading the word of what we all do.

What an honor to get to meet & reconnect with so many incredible nonprofit & business leaders.

Thank you to everyone at the Keller Williams family for hosting this awesome community event!

Shout out to Jaida for rocking that booth -and Jenna - from Building Strong Horizons, Inc. for always having our back in every way.

We met some awesome new friends we can't wait to collaborate with!

๐Ÿ’—It is with a heavy heart and treasured memories that we announce on behalf of the KIDS CARE family, the peaceful passing of my father & Jaida's very proud grandfather, Rick Gutierrez on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026.

Son, brother, husband, brother in-law, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, doggie dad, coach, friend & Marine - he filled many roles throughout his life.

Shaping me into the strong, compassionate woman I am today, these qualities live on in Jaida as well. He will be deeply missed for many reasons, including being KIDS CARE #1 fan and absolute constant supporter.

He has helped from a far on our annual backpack drive every year with data research, loved and shared every single post, donated to every cause where we needed something and continually pushed and encouraged us to keep doing what we're doing - even when it's hard.

And that's what we will do. We apologize for the lack of communications, posts, new events, updated volunteer hours and all the things over the past month. Everything was dropped to run to his side & help, support and love him while he fought through critical illness in the past few months.

We will return to normal operations as soon as possible. We have several services we want to share that our volunteers still accomplished while I was gone.

In Rick's honor - please give him a smile for making us who we are & a moment of appreciation while doing one of his favorite things: playing & loving on doggies, fishing, barbequing, going for a ride in a cool car, collecting coins, shooting fi****ms, cheering for Detroit sports teams, enjoying a coke slushie or cotton candy & most definitely - loving on your family.

In lieu of flowers to the family, if you would like to make a donation in his honor, please consider donating to one of the two causes below that were near and dear to his heart:

๐Ÿ’– KIDS CARE (Daughter & Granddaughter's Nonprofit): https://kids-care2018.org/support-our-efforts
๐Ÿ’– The National League of POW/MIA Families (Specific to Vietnam Veterans): https://www.pow-miafamilies.org/donation

We thank you all for your love, support, and patience as we catch our breath and heal.

Kindly,

๐Ÿ’Amie & Jaida Burke

๐ŸŒฑGrowing Kindness - we're looking for some special support. We're still in need of 2 large pretty outdoor pots, some annual flowers, a $100 gift card to a local garden center, and the 3 tons of slate chips from Georgia Landscape Supply.

๐ŸŒธAll items will be donated to Cobb County 911's private wellness GROW Garden. This important garden space was developed in 2022 as a safe, private, and quite space for 911 dispatchers to decompress and relax. (GROW = Growth, Restoration, Oneness & Wellness).

๐Ÿ’™ KIDS CARE is partnering with the Cobb County Public Safety Foundation to acquire these in-kind donations. Once we do, our volunteers will help get all the spring cleaning done for these very incredible people and this very special space. Please contact Amie if you can help in any way.
