We Need You in the Choice Pantry! 💚

Our Choice Pantry helps Cobb County families access the food and essential items they need—and we need volunteers to make it happen!

Whether you can give a few hours once in a while or volunteer regularly, your time makes a difference. From stocking shelves to helping families select what works best for their household, every volunteer plays an important role.

WILL YOU BE A PART OF THE LEGACY? We hope you join us in celebrating 40 years of Thanks for Giving!

For four decades, our community has come together to help Cobb County families facing difficult times share a meaningful Thanksgiving meal. Since the program began, approximately 60,000 families have received food to help feed their families throughout Thanksgiving week.

This year, we hope to provide Thanksgiving meals for more than 1,000 families—but we need your help. We hope you donate, host a food drive or volunteer to help us collect, sort, pack and distribute more than 75,000 pounds of food the week of November 16-20.

Will you join us?

Our Summer Newsletter is here! 💚

Take a look inside for a sneak peek at the 40th Anniversary of Thanks for Giving; the exciting announcement of where in the world we’re headed for our 2027 Gala; a message from our CEO on the continued uncertainty of federal funding; a look inside the lives of those we serve through "The Dignity Project," and so much more.

There’s a lot happening at The CFR—and we’d love for you to be part of it. Read the newsletter today!

Lately, I find myself disagreeing with many of my colleagues in the homelessness sector on what the current federal funding uncertainty means—and I think that’s a conversation worth having.

Our Choice Pantry needs personal hygiene products! 🧴🪥🧼

For families facing homelessness and food insecurity, essentials like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant and other hygiene items can be difficult to afford—but they are so important to a family’s health, confidence and dignity.

You can help by purchasing much-needed items directly from our wish list. Every donation makes a difference for a Cobb County family in need.

Homelessness doesn’t begin when someone loses their home. Often, it begins much earlier—with an unexpected expense, a job loss, rising rent or a crisis that makes it impossible to keep up.

That’s why prevention matters. At The Center for Family Resources, we work to help Cobb County families facing housing instability before they become homeless. Through rental assistance, housing support, employment services, financial education and other resources, we help families overcome challenges and remain safely housed.

Preventing homelessness means protecting more than a home—it means helping families hold on to stability, hope and a path forward. 💚

What if you could walk in someone else’s path—just for a few minutes?

Homelessness is more than not having a place to live. It can mean choosing between rent and medicine. Between childcare and work. Between putting food on the table and paying a bill. And sometimes, one unexpected setback can create a ripple effect that feels impossible to overcome.

We created The Dignity Project - Walk Their Path simulation to help our community experience some of those difficult choices firsthand—and, most importantly, to build empathy and understanding for the families who face them.

You don’t have to wonder what you would do. Take the journey. Make the choices. See where they lead.
