Cobb Collaborative

Cobb Collaborative Cobb Collaborative educates, engages, and empowers local people and organizations to improve outcomes for children and families in Cobb County.

Every community has a wide range of needs and Cobb County is no exception. Improving the lives of everyone in a community is a daunting and complex challenge. But there is a way for all of us to work together towards collectively improving our county. We partner with a range of organizations and causes, but we focus on initiative areas of Mental Health, Literacy and Civic Engagement to make the la

rgest impact on our community. For more than 30 years, the Cobb Collaborative has served hundreds of organizations and individuals in Cobb County. Our goal is to be the bridge that connects all of our collective efforts into a greater impact. We’re an official Georgia Family Connection Partnership, meaning we have statewide support but deliver on a local level.

June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals while also recognizing the importance of supporting mental well-being within our communities.πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Research continues to show that LGBTQ+ young people face higher rates of mental health challenges and su***de risk than their peers. Supportive families, schools, workplaces, and communities can make a meaningful difference in helping individuals feel safe, connected, and valued.

Mental health is a community issue, and each of us can play a role in fostering understanding, reducing stigma, and creating spaces where everyone can thrive.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. In the United States, you can call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline for free, confidential support 24/7.

You can also find mental health resources and support information through the Mind Your Mind initiative at bit.ly/MYM-CC

πŸ—³οΈ Today is Runoff Election Day. Polls are open today for eligible voters participating in the runoff election. If you plan to vote, be sure to verify your polling location, review any identification requirements, and come with a voting plan!

In Georgia, voters who participated in a party primary in May must vote in the same party's runoff. For example, if you voted in the Republican primary in May, you may only vote in the Republican runoff. Voters who chose a nonpartisan ballot in May may choose either party's runoff.

Find your voter information at mvp.sos.ga.gov

We had a blast at Cobb & Douglas Public Health's Purposeful Play event earlier this month! β˜€οΈ

At our station, little ones became sun safety experts through our "Sunscreen Sensory Painting" activity β€” using paintbrushes to "apply sunscreen" to summer-themed images while learning how to stay safe in the sun through pretend play and conversation.

Thank you to Children's 1st for including us in such a meaningful, hands-on experience for young children and caregivers. These early moments of playful learning make a real difference! 🎨

When a Veteran mother and her child were faced with the possibility of homelessness, the future felt uncertain. After being evicted from her home, she needed immediate support. Through Connecting Georgia Veterans, she was quickly connected to emergency lodging, food resources, and short-term financial assistance to help meet her family's immediate needs.

But the support didn't stop there- working together, community partners helped connect her to longer-term housing resources and ongoing assistance as she searches for a new place to call home. Today, she is receiving the support she needs to move forward with stability and hope.

Stories like this remind us why collaboration matters. No single organization can meet every need, but together, we can help ensure Veterans and their families don't have to navigate life's challenges alone.
