Cobb Collaborative

Cobb Collaborative Cobb Collaborative educates, engages, and empowers local people and organizations to improve outcomes for children and families in Cobb County.

Every community has a wide range of needs and Cobb County is no exception. Improving the lives of everyone in a community is a daunting and complex challenge. But there is a way for all of us to work together towards collectively improving our county. We partner with a range of organizations and causes, but we focus on initiative areas of Mental Health, Literacy and Civic Engagement to make the la

rgest impact on our community. For more than 30 years, the Cobb Collaborative has served hundreds of organizations and individuals in Cobb County. Our goal is to be the bridge that connects all of our collective efforts into a greater impact. We’re an official Georgia Family Connection Partnership, meaning we have statewide support but deliver on a local level.

On Tuesday, we kicked off our Early Literacy Ambassador program, bringing together a passionate group ready to help children and families build a strong foundation for literacy! 📚💛

We spent time connecting, learning about The Basics principles and the science of reading, and exploring what makes literacy so meaningful - and why so many of us are passionate about helping families discover the joy of reading together.

We’re so excited to see what this group accomplishes as they engage families, share resources and help make early literacy a part of everyday life across Cobb County.

Have you listened to our latest podcast episode? 🎙️ Last week, we shared a conversation with Chief Moon Hawk of the Yamassee-Guale Nation of Georgia and Jacob Rogers, VYV Coordinator, exploring the Nation’s history, heritage, and ongoing work in Georgia—including its efforts to gain state recognition as a tribe.

They also discuss the importance of representation, advocacy, and making sure Native voices are heard, as well as why civic engagement is a 365-day-a-year effort, not something that ends after an election.

Learn more about the Yamassee-Guale Nation and the importance of year-round civic engagement and the importance of representation, advocacy, and community engagement: bit.ly/MYM-S6EP13
