Last night, the new President of our esteemed Board of Directors called her first meeting to order!
Ellen Begley Boswell joined the board last year and is an attorney with the Sutton Law Group. A native of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, Ellen is a āDouble Bear,ā having received her Bachelor of Arts (2013) and Juris Doctor (2016) degrees from Mercer University. She has represented individuals, business, insurers, self-insured companies, and servicing agents throughout Georgia for general civil liability litigation and insurance coverage counsel and litigation. This, in addition to using her background in business to provide external general counsel services to the firmās clients.
As an Atlanta native, Ellen spent most of her summers playing and working at an all-girls camp in Clarkesville, Georgia teaching outdoor living skills, canoeing, and helping the horseback cabin at the barn. It wasn't until she moved back to Atlanta from Virginia and Maine a few years ago that she began fly fishing. She checked out every book from the library about fish and entomology and spent as much time as she could hitting the Ocmulgee river in Macon, GA.
After returning to legal practice in Atlanta, she quickly was spending every free moment on the Chattahoochee or researching her next trip back up to follow blue lines in Madison County, North Carolina.
When not flirting with bad hooksets on her Redington butter stick or getting roasted by librarians for seemingly reading more about fishing than actually fishing, Ellen practices civil litigation defense and insurance law. She also enjoys kayaking, camping, and going to concerts with her husband, Will Boswell, and their dogs, Quinn and River. Ellen has been joyfully sober since October 1, 2018 and credits the sport of fly fishing to her lasting commitment to live an expansive life free from alcohol.
