It's showtime! Tomorrow will be our last fall planting project, and it's a big one! The nursery truck arrives at 10 am at the skate house along Oakview Ave, and the Weeding Wednesday crew will be planting throughout the day. Our wonderful landscape designer Jennifer Ryan who developed our multi-year master plan, will be leading the charge! If you want to join in, follow the wheelbarrows!

Today we put the final touches on the landscaping for the Township's Civic House renovation. Karen, Gabe, Mary, Deborah, and Jeff mulched the beds, and all the new plantings look great. Thanks to the Township's Engineering Department for allowing us to choose and place the replacement shrubs (design by Jennifer Ryan), and to John Caffrey's crew at the DPW for planting and providing the mulch. Kudos to the Township for the sensitive restoration of the building, with JCM design + build. Next week we'll add a few perennials for color and seasonal interest. As always, the Conservancy is grateful for our partnership with the Township of Maplewood in the stewardship of our historic park.

A million thanks to Cam Kanterman and Jessica Miller of the Essex Chapter of the Native Plant Society of New Jersey for leading a wonderful walk through our beautiful park this weekend discussing our many native trees. The talk was so interesting and informative, and their passion and expertise really shone through! Thanks too to Deb Ellis and all the other volunteers at NPSNJ for organizing and helping with this event.
