New York State Recreation & Park Society The New York State Recreation and Park Society was founded in 1940 to support park, recreation and therapeutic professionals across NY.

Founded in 1940 and incorporated in 1960, NYSRPS is the principal organization promoting quality recreation and park opportunities for all citizens of NYS through education, training, technical assistance and other support to local, county, state and federal recreation and park providers.

We are excited to share that our 2026 Conference sessions have been approved for continuing education credits towards the Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification from the National Recreation and Park Association and the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification. Check the session details for applicable credits.

Our priority is to provide quality professional development opportunities through education sessions and opportunities to learn from fellow professionals who understand the work you do every day.
