A small but mighty group of volunteers showed up today, despite the rain, to continue ramping things up for our 15th season! They spread fresh soil and did some more planting. It's going to be a spectacular season!

And so it begins... Season 15 of The Garden has begun!

Thanks to our volunteers, Becky and Mike ("The Sunset Shift"), for getting things going Tuesday night.

We are so excited about our new season! We are proud of the impact The Garden has had on this community, and we're looking forward to continuing for another 15 years.

Jim Keller has some 'splaining to do!

“Who is Jenny??” 😂

In a sweet gesture, the song is actually in the news today because, per People, Tommy Heath (aka Tommy Tutone, the band’s other founding member) has joined together with the Cancer Support Community and Gilda’s Club to register the 867-5309 phone number as a cancer hotline so that anyone dealing with the disease can chat with professionals to best assist with whatever they might need.

“When someone is depressed and confused, they’ll go, ‘Hey, I’ll call 867-5309. Somebody’s waiting there to help me.’ And I hope they smile at that point,” Heath told People. “That’s the way I think it ought to work, and I hope it does. I need to give back to the community, the people who have supported me all these years. I’m going to do what I can.”

Hopefully who𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 Jenny is knows her number is being used for a good cause, if not for a good time, today ❤️

Eugene McLoughlin is one of our rock star volunteers! He's been a big part of The Garden since the beginning, and his contributions are countless.

"Uncle Gene" took it upon himself to give the Little Pantry and BIG makeover! New roof, new door, and a fresh coat of paint. Beautiful.

Fire the intern! 🤬

We're not sure how it slipped through the cracks, but we neglected to tell you all that Rent Party was recognized at Maplewood's reorganization meeting on January 1!

There were a lot of "whereas" and "therefores", but the long and short of it was that we were recognized and honored for our "longstanding commitment to fighting hunger and supporting Maplewood and the greater SOMA community."

It's nice to be recognized, and we couldn't do what we do without the support of this community!

Thanks so much to GS Troop 20543 for packing for Backpack Pals again! 3rd year in a row this wonderful group has volunteered. What a blessing for our community to have kids growing up with a practice of community service.
