You are invited to attend the Benzie-Manistee 4-H Advisory Council meeting this Thursday at 6pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arcadia (17191 3rd St, Arcadia, MI 49613). We will be in a back classroom.

The purpose of the Advisory Council is to assist in planning, helping, advising, and promoting the 4-H Youth Program in Benzie & Manistee Counties, and ensure:
Youth develop positive relationships with adults and peers.
Youth are physically and emotionally safe.
Youth are actively engaged in their own development.
Youth are considered participants rather than recipients in the learning process.
Youth develop skills that help them succeed.
Youth recognize, understand, and appreciate multiculturalism.
Youth grow and contribute as active citizens through service and leadership.
We are looking for new members to join us! To join, you must be either a Gold Volunteer with 4-H, an active and enrolled youth member in either Benzie or Manistee County and nominated by a current Council Member.

To learn more about the purpose of County Level Advisory Councils, please visit: https://www.canr.msu.edu/resources/michigan_4_h_advisory_council_responsibilities_best_practices_requirements

We will be providing a virtual attendance option via Zoom for those who would like to utilize it. Please respond to Ali Ballard via email ([email protected]) to receive the virtual invite link.

Our business this meeting will be paying some Benzie 4-H Soccer bills, recruiting new members, and discuss what projects/events the Council might like to support for the coming program year.

’Twas the night before hatch day, in classrooms so bright,
Not an egg was a-wobblin’, not even a peep in sight.
The incubators hummed with a soft, steady care,
Keeping future little chicks warm in there.

The students had learned of life cycles with glee,
From shell to small chick—what a wonder to see!
They candled the eggs and watched growth day by day,
Science and agriculture leading the way.

With lessons on farming and food that we share,
4-H sparked curiosity everywhere.
Responsibility, patience, and knowledge took wing,
As each tiny heartbeat meant more than one thing.

So here’s to tomorrow, to cracks and to cheeps,
To wide-eyed excitement that no one can keep!
From our Ag in the Classroom and 4-H crew,
Happy hatching— see you soon KND Public Schools ! 🐣
