We are welcoming the very popular singer-songwriter Nick Veine in concert next Sunday June 7th at 4:00pm. He has prepared a superb concert program across a variety of genres and we invite one and all to come and enjoy this free event at Guardian Angels Church in Manistee!

Nick Veine is a singer-songwriter and composer born and raised in Manistee, MI. He grew up playing rock and blues before he started singing, pivoting to acoustic music without losing that electric flair.

His passion encouraged him to attend Berklee College of Music, where he earned his Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Writing & Production as well as a Minor in American Roots Music before completing his Master of Music in Classical Composition at Belmont University.

He performs an eclectic mix of pop tunes, original music, and traditional folk & blues as a solo act and with other phenomenal musicians across the state.

Nick Veine has been a stand-out performer at our Christmas program for several years and now he’s preparing for a solo concert at Guardian Angels Church on June 7 at 4:00pm! This week we bid a sad final farewell to our project member Mr. David Shinn. David and his wife Mary Ann were married at Guardian Angels Church, and though life took them many places the church remained a treasured part of their story. From the beginning of our effort to save the church, the Shinns have been at our side attending to a million small details. Because of their conscientious efforts our programs have been more polished, more successful, and better attended. They joined us in Lansing back in 2020 as we made our case to the historic preservation board for the church to receive status on the national historic register. David was a constant presence at the entrances during our events providing a warm welcome, some direction, and many answers to constant inquiries about the church. Personally, we all truly liked David Shinn. He is kind and gentle, clearly wise and well educated, never overbearing or arrogant. His absence at our events going forward will be felt bitterly. We invite you to please keep in prayer his wonderful spouse Mrs. Mary Ann Shinn and their family. David's funeral mass will be held at Guardian Angels Church this Friday April 10 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior.
