Our club had an informative meeting this week with guest speakers Theresa and Wendy from Manistee Blessings in a Backpack. Blessings in a Backpack collects and distributes food and personal hygiene items for students in need in our community. When the organization started in Manistee they were supporting 19 children, and right now they’re supporting 143!

They recently won the Impact Award at the Business Awards Gala, a true testament to their commitment to taking action and creating positive change in our community!

How can you get involved? ✋🤚
• Donate individually wrapped food items (peanut butter singles, granola bars, tuna, etc.)
• Volunteer at their packing dates! Tuesdays at 11 AM at the Wagoner Community Center
• Spread the word! Help others learn how they’re supporting local students and making a meaningful impact in our community 💛

Our club chair, Trinity Herbert, attended the 2026 Great Lakes Rotary President-Elect Learning Seminar this week in Kalamazoo. This event brought together future Rotary leaders for hands-on learning, fresh ideas, and meaningful connections.

She came back inspired and ready to continue growing and reestablishing Rotary in our community! 💙

Thank you to all the Rotarians and leaders who made this event possible, and a special thank you to Rotary International 26-27 President-Elect Olayinka Babalola from Nigeria for inspiring us and taking time to connect throughout the event.

Last night, a few members of our Manistee Rotary attended the Chamber of Commerce’s Untapped event—each of us there representing our own businesses, but together showing up as Rotarians. 💙

Events like Untapped remind us how strong Manistee is when local businesses, leaders, and organizations come together to connect, collaborate, and support one another. We’re proud to be part of a community that values relationships, service, and showing up for one another.
