Manistee Blessings in a Backpack Blessings in a Backpack is a nation-wide 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We are the Manistee Blessings in a Backpack Chapter.

Manistee Blessings in a Backpack is a Non Profit Volunteer Organization that helps provide weekend meals for 146 local children at Jefferson Elementary, Manistee Elementary, Manistee Middle/High School, Casman Alternative Academy and Armory Youth Project We are based out of the Wagoner Community Center located at 260 St Mary S Pkwy in Manistee. Just as our National organization, our goal is to fe

If you are interested in helping with our program, you can volunteer your time to help us pack and distribute food (see our page for the packing dates during the school year), and monetary donations are also welcome! Checks can be mailed to "Blessings in a Backpack, PO Box 950291 Louisville, KY 40295" with Manistee MI chapter in the memo line. Electronic donations can be taken on our gift gab page at https://giving.blessingsinabackpack.org/organizations/manistee
Please DO NOT send any monetary donations to the Wagoner Center. They must be sent to our National PO Box or done electronically online (if you have a cash donation, please send us a message and we can help coordinate that donation). We pack food every two weeks for the students we service (currently 104 and counting). If you have any questions about how to donate, what items are needed, or how to volunteer, please feel free to reach out! Most information can be found on our page but we are always happy to answer questions!

We extend our sincerest gratitude to all of our dedicated volunteers who participated in today's packing effort. Your collective assistance has been invaluable to us.

Because of you, we were able to help 146 local kids at Manistee Area Public Schools, CASMAN Academy and Armory Youth Project get help with weekend food assistance.

Special thanks to Filer Credit Union for continuing to help with Our Mission.

We also want to continue to express our gratitude to Manistee County Council on Aging for allowing us to use their space.

Our next packing is Tuesday, February 17 at Wagoner Community Center (MCOA).

Our food is in! We are so very grateful.

We will be packing tomorrow as planned. Please meet at Manistee County Council on Aging (Wagoner Community Center) at 11:00 if you have an hour to spare.

We are currently serving 146 children at Manistee Area Public Schools, CASMAN Academy and Armory Youth Project.

All of your donations stay local and help us to help our kids make it through the weekend.

Just a quick update - a small group is getting the food out this week due to the many delays and closures.

We look forward to being back on schedule this next week.

Continued thanks to Manistee County Council on Aging for being flexible with us and we are excited to see all our wonderful volunteers next Tuesday, February 3 at 11:00.

Because of numerous snow days and the weather we are having, we have decided to add a packing not on our schedule.

Due to the snow day for Manistee area public schools tomorrow Jan 20th, we will not be packing tomorrow at 11. We will update everyone if we are able to move the packing time to another day!
