November 2026 Reach Out APK charities
APK charities was established in loving memory of Captain Andrew Michael Pedersen-Keel (PK), Special Forces ODA 3126 Commander, a highly decorated and exceptional leader who gave his life in Afghanistan in March 2013.
APK Charities seek to raise awareness and support for our active, retired, wounded and fallen warriors and their families and to provide financial aid and material assistance to charitable organizations and causes.
The APK Direct Assistance Program (DAP) is designed to provide direct financial and other support services to service members and their families who are in need of emergency or hardship assistance.
Examples of support include but are not limited to:
• Medical Support (e.g. treatment costs, rehabilitation support, short term counseling, medical equipment, medical supplies, prescription drug)
• Housing Assistance (e.g. mortgage, rent, security deposits, heat, utilities)
• Transportation Assistance (e.g. auto repair, fuel costs, auto insurance, public transportation costs)
• Individual and Family Support (e.g. home care, day care, job search costs, training)
• Service/Emotional Support Animals (costs associated with medically prescribed service animals including but not limited to: licensing and mandatory vaccinations. Routine veterinary care will not be covered.)

What would you do if leadership told you the mission was over, but the people you’d promised to protect were still in danger? That’s not a hypothetical. In August 2021, as Kabul fell and the Taliban closed in on the Kabul airport, retired U.S. Army Green Beret Lt. Col. Scott Mann faced exactly that question. His answer became one of the most remarkable rescue operations in modern American history, saving more than 1,000 Afghan commandos and interpreter s in danger of losing their lives. And you can see this magnificent one-man, one-act play while simultaneously benefiting APK Charities.

On October 2 at 7 p.m. and October 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Torp Theater in Davidson Hall on the campus of Central Connecticut State University (1615 Stanley St, New Britain, CT 06050) will host 11 DAYS: The Story of Operation Pineapple Express, a play written and performed by Mann that puts that story, raw and unfiltered, on the stage.
