Our Youth Advisory Group gathered last night for an end-of-year pizza party to celebrate a great year. With 25 members, this was the largest YAG in our history. Together, they raised funds, reviewed grant applications, and awarded more than $13,000 to nonprofits serving children and families.

A heartfelt thanks to these impressive student leaders for their time, dedication, and commitment to making Guilford a better place.

It's Pride Month! We’re proud to support ALEX, Inc. through our 2026 Community Impact Grant program. This funding helps provide free programs and a welcoming community space in Guilford where LGBTQIA+ individuals, families, allies, and others can find connection, support, and a sense of belonging.

Through support groups, youth programming, creative gatherings, and community events, ALEX works to reduce isolation and create opportunities for people to be their authentic selves. Their new community space on State Street expands access to these resources for Guilford and neighboring shoreline communities.

We believe strong communities are built when everyone has the opportunity to feel connected, supported, and valued.

🚂Little Folks Fair | 11 AM - 4 PM
The Community Nursery School's Little Folks Fair on the Guilford Green is a longtime family favorite featuring games, crafts, face painting, inflatables, animals, food, and plenty of activities for young children. Proceeds support tuition assistance and enrichment programs that help make high-quality early childhood education accessible to local families.

🚴‍♀️Cycle for a Cause | 8 AM to Noon
The Soundview Family YMCA invites the community to participate in four themed cycling rides on stationary bikes, one each hour. Funds raised support LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a free 12-week program that helps cancer survivors regain strength, confidence, and well-being.

🏃 SongStrong 5K | 8:30 AM - 1 PM
Held at the Guilford Fairgrounds, the SongStrong 5K features a 5K run, children's fun run, community walk, and a post-race party. The event benefits the Ethan Miller Song Foundation and its work to support programs that help keep children safe.

No matter which event you choose, you'll be supporting organizations that are making a positive difference in our community!

It's scholarship season at Guilford High School. On Tuesday, June 2, more than 25 funds will award scholarships to students to pursue their educational goals, whether at a university, community college, trade school, or vocational program.

Many of these funds were established by families, friends, and community members to honor loved ones, while others reflect a donor's passion for education and opportunity. We are grateful for the generosity that continues to support our Guilford students year after year.

Youth Advisory Group co-chairs Lyra Monaco and Mary Gahm recently joined the Rotary Club to share how YAG operates and introduce their 2026 grant recipients. From reviewing applications to making funding decisions, these students take on every aspect of grantmaking, gaining meaningful leadership and public speaking experience along the way.

They also had the opportunity to connect with Al Jacobs, a key figure in YAG’s history who helped launch the program in 2010 through the Guilford High School Interact Club and served as its advisor for more than a decade. The students also met with Rotary President Carl Cooper Jr., making it a meaningful moment connecting past and present generations of community leadership.

We’re proud to support Shoreline Village CT and its recent 15th anniversary celebration at the VFW in Guilford through our sponsorship partnership with Ascend Bank.

Over the years, Shoreline Village has become an important resource for older adults looking to remain active, connected, and independent in their homes. Through transportation assistance, friendly visitors, social events, household help, and educational programming, the organization helps seniors age in place.

We were especially glad to support their outreach and recruitment efforts last year as they worked to rebuild membership following the pandemic. It’s wonderful to see Shoreline Village growing again and continuing to strengthen connections for seniors across Guilford, Branford, and Madison.

Thank You!

Thank You!

The Guilford Agricultural Society wishes to thank the for the Grant of $6,000 for upgrades to infrastructure on the Guilford Fairgrounds. 🌳 The funds will contribute to new fencing and signage, as well as improvements to the security system and public restrooms. These upgrades to existing infrastructure will ensure public safety and security for attendees, volunteers, event organizations and vendors of all events held at the Fairgrounds.

The Guilford Fairgrounds is a unique and integral part of the Town of Guilford, hosting multiple events throughout the year, including the weekly Farmers Market () the Community Fireworks, and the annual Guilford Fair. These upgrades will enhance the infrastructure for the safety and convenience of volunteers and members of the public while attending events on the Fairgrounds. ❤️

Thank you to the Guilford Foundation for your continued support and investment in a Guilford treasure. ✨

Today, we want to recognize the APK Charities Endowment Fund. Established by Bob Keiser and Helen Pedersen-Keiser in memory of their son, Special Forces Captain Andrew Pedersen-Keel, who died while serving in Afghanistan in 2013, the fund supports active duty, retired, wounded, and fallen service members and their families. 🇺🇸

Bob and Helen created APK Charities to strengthen the connection between our communities and the men and women who serve our country. Through this permanent fund, support will continue for organizations and causes that provide assistance, resources, and advocacy for military families and veterans.

Today, we thank all who have served our country and show our appreciation of the Keiser family’s commitment to honoring Andrew’s service through meaningful and lasting community impact.
