Vineville Neighborhood Association

The VNA is open to all residents of the Vineville Historic District in Macon, Georgia.

Our association covers an area that stretches roughly from the Georgia Academy for the Blind on Vineville Avenue to I-75 and from English Avenue to Ingleside Avenue.

It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you work together! Several bags of trash, some tires, a bumper, and a few SeeClickFix tickets later and the area around the intersection at Clisby & Roff is looking a lot better. We’re so thankful for everyone that showed up to help! Next month we’ll be cleaning up at the intersection of Vineville & Pierce. We hope to see you out sweating with us and making a difference in our community!

Kick your Labor Day weekend off right, by creating visible, positive change in your neighborhood! Join us this Saturday, September 5th for our monthly neighborhood cleanup as we meet at the intersection of Clisby Place and Roff Avenue, just down from Miller Fine Arts Magnet Middle School. VNA will provide supplies, but feel free to bring any push mowers or w**d eaters to assist. Meet at 9am and stick around after for refreshments and to catch up with neighbors. We can’t wait to see you there!

Our fellow historic neighborhood associations are getting desperate, grasping at straws, trying to figure out how they can beat us. They asked, some might say begged, to extend the can tab collections until 10/1. What are we if not gracious, so the competition goes on! Now that we’re in the final stretch we need everyone to save their can tabs. Summer is almost gone, so ditch the bathing suit and grab a can, or a case, and start on that winter body…just don’t forget to save the tabs and either let us know when we can pick them up from you, or join us for the final weigh-in at Society Garden on October 1st at 6:30pm. 🌿☀️ Summer Yards of the Month! ☀️🌿

A big shoutout to our amazing neighbors who are keeping their yards looking beautiful despite the summer heat! Your hard work, dedication, and love for our neighborhood really show. It’s difficult to capture in one picture, but the beauty goes beyond the yards, these are beautiful homes and neighbors as well!

Our fellow historic neighborhood associations got a head start and they’re gonna need it! We need everyone to save their can tabs because we’re going head-to-head to see who can collect the most for our Competition for a Cause for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia. Tabs get recycled for cash that helps cover the House’s everyday costs, so families can stay close to their kids while they receive medical care. Make sure you remember to save yours and either let us know when we can pick them up from you, or join us for the final weigh-in at Society Garden on September 1st at 6:30pm. You might have seen in a previous post that we were proud to support children in our community by donating summer lunches through a program hosted by Centenary and the Booker T. Washington Community Center this summer. While we were lucky to be able to donate lunches on three separate days, that would not have been possible without some generous donations from Sid's Sandwich Shop. We love supporting local, and are so encouraged to see businesses reinvest in their community. Make sure you go support them and show them some love!

We didn’t get all of our trash bags in the picture, but we made great progress during this morning’s cleanup at the former car wash/I-75 on and off ramps and we’re so thankful for everyone that showed up to help! After taking the month of July off, we’re back to cleanups every month and it’ll only get cooler from here. Next month we’ll be cleaning up at the intersection of Clisby and Roff, just down from Miller Fine Arts Magnet Middle School. We hope to see you out sweating with us and making a difference in our community!

Although it might not feel like it, summer is coming to a close. To celebrate the return of school we’re cleaning things up and we hope you’ll join us! Our monthly neighborhood cleanup is this Saturday, August 1st and we’ll need all hands on deck as we plan to meet at the former car wash (1820 Hardeman Avenue) to pick up the surrounding area. VNA will provide supplies. Meet at 9am and stick around after for refreshments and to catch up with neighbors on your summer adventures. We can’t wait to see you there!
