St. Peter Claver Catholic School joyfully congratulates Dr. Thelma T. Daley, 16th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, upon receiving the Papal Honor of Dame of the Order of St. Gregory the Great.

Conferred by Pope Leo XIV, this distinguished honor recognizes Dr. Daley’s extraordinary contributions to the life and mission of the Catholic Church and her faithful service to the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

We also proudly recognize the women of Delta Sigma Theta here in Macon, including many of our own SPCCS alumnae, whose commitment to education, public service and the advancement of their communities reflects values we hold dear. The Catholic faith teaches us that our gifts find their fullest meaning when placed at the service of others, and generations of Delta women have lived that call with courage, excellence and purpose.

Congratulations, Dr. Daley, on this historic and richly deserved honor. May your example, and that of the Delta women in our own school family, continue to inspire our children to lead with faith, wisdom and a heart for others.

One of the beautiful things about school Mass is hearing the message again through the ears of a child. They listen, they notice, and they carry away the part that spoke to them.

Then came the art—and the artist!

Our gallery space in the SPCCS main building has welcomed its first exhibit of the year, giving our young artists a place to share their creativity, imagination and unique way of seeing the world. We cannot wait to watch these walls fill with color, and our students beam with pride.

Every great gallery begins with its first masterpiece. 🎨

Today marks the anniversary of J.R.R. Tolkien; scholar, storyteller, Catholic, and the man who gave the world hobbits, Middle Earth…and a perfectly reasonable argument for second breakfast. 🥐☕

His faith quietly runs through his stories with the conviction that even the smallest person can make a great difference. Not a bad lesson for a school full of small people doing great things.

Today we tip our hats to him, and perhaps, even have second breakfast in his honor. 📚✨

Our weekly school Mass is a beautiful meeting between child and Gospel. Through Scripture, and Fr. Tommy’s gentle, child-centered guidance, our students learn what faith looks like in everyday life: welcoming others, respecting different cultures, and recognizing that we are all part of God’s family.

At SPCCS, we teach children that getting it wrong is part of learning. 💛

We start in Kindergarten: your brain is like a muscle, the more you stretch it, the stronger it gets.

A wrong answer, a hard assignment, a missed goal? Those aren’t endings. They are opportunities to try again, problem-solve, grow in confidence and discover what you can do.

That’s how resilient learners are made.

A helpful reminder for parents from the Center for Parent & Teen Communication: sometimes one of the BEST things we can do for our children is give them room to try, stumble, learn, and try again. And it is HARD to see your child fail!
