💜 Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.

This year marks the 25th observance of International Overdose Awareness Day, with the theme “25 Years On. Still Needed.”

Today, we remember and honor the lives lost to overdose, acknowledge the grief carried by families and loved ones, and stand with those in recovery. We also remind our community of an important truth: overdose is preventable, and every life is worth saving.

At Macon Volunteer Clinic, we are proud to be part of the Opioid Coalition, working alongside community partners to promote safety, reduce stigma, and support recovery for our neighbors and patients alike.

Today, we encourage our community to:
💜 Carry naloxone. It can reverse an opioid overdose and save a life.
💜 Know that treatment works. Access to evidence-based treatment can save lives.
💜 Reduce stigma. Compassion and open conversations can make it easier for someone to ask for help.
💜 Know the risks. Fentanyl and other substances can be present unexpectedly, making awareness and prevention more important than ever.
💜 Remember that progress is possible. We have made progress in reducing overdose deaths, but there is still work to do.

Today, we remember. We support. We educate. And we continue working together to build a community where people can find help without judgment.

25 years on. Still needed. Still working together. Still saving lives. 💜

What makes Georgia's free and charitable clinics so unique? We are both community-powered and deeply human-centered. ❤️

As a proud member of the Georgia Charitable Care Network, Macon Volunteer Clinic is part of a statewide network working to expand access to healthcare for Georgians who face barriers to traditional care.

At MVC, 100% of our patients are working adults without health insurance. Our volunteer providers and dedicated supporters help us provide the ongoing medical, dental, specialty, and preventive care our patients need to stay healthy and continue supporting their families.

But our impact isn't measured only in services provided. It's in the relationships we build, the dignity we protect, and the people we help care for along the way.

That's the heart of . ❤️

A healthy workforce is a stronger community. 💼❤️

At Macon Volunteer Clinic, 100% of our patients are working adults without health insurance. We believe access to healthcare helps hardworking individuals stay healthy, manage chronic conditions, and continue supporting their families and our community.

As a proud member of the Georgia Charitable Care Network, we are part of a statewide network of free and charitable clinics working to make sure lack of insurance doesn't mean lack of access to care.

But our work is about more than healthcare. It's about recognizing the dignity of every person who walks through our doors and providing compassionate care to people who work hard to support themselves, their families, and our community.

When you support Macon Volunteer Clinic, you're investing in a healthier workforce, stronger families, and a healthier Middle Georgia.

As a proud member of the Georgia Charitable Care Network, we provide a vital healthcare safety net for hardworking adults in Middle Georgia who may otherwise struggle to access the care they need.

Thank You, Navicent Health Foundation!

Macon Volunteer Clinic is incredibly grateful to receive a $20,000 grant from the Navicent Health Foundation through its HEAT grant program to support two important areas of patient care.

🩺 $10,000 for Diagnostic Testing
This funding will help provide essential labwork for our patients, supporting our clinical team in diagnosing conditions, monitoring chronic illnesses, and making informed decisions about their care.

🦷 $10,000 for Dental Care
This funding will help strengthen our dental program and expand access to needed dental services for our patients.

We are so thankful to the Navicent Health Foundation for investing in the health of our community and helping us provide the comprehensive care our patients need.

Your support makes a direct difference in the lives of the working uninsured adults we serve. Thank you for helping Macon Volunteer Clinic continue to care for our community!

🚨 Our Community Needs Blood Donors. 🩸

Right now, the American Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage, with supplies at critically low levels. Every day, patients rely on blood donations for emergency care, surgeries, cancer treatments, and chronic illnesses—but those lifesaving donations can only come from generous people like you.

That's why Macon Volunteer Clinic is proud to partner with the American Red Cross to host an Emergency Blood Drive on Friday, August 14, from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM.

When you donate, you're not just giving blood—you're helping ensure that families and patients right here in our community have access to the care they need when every second counts.

📅 Friday, August 14
⏰ 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
📍 Macon Volunteer Clinic
770 Walnut Street, Macon, GA

Appointments are encouraged, and walk-ins are always welcome.

If you've ever thought about donating blood, now is the time. Together, we can help replenish our community's blood supply and give hope to those who need it most.

💉 August is National Immunization Awareness Month! 💙

Staying up to date on recommended vaccinations is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your health and the health of those around you.

For many working adults without health insurance, accessing preventive care like vaccinations can be challenging. At Macon Volunteer Clinic, we believe a lack of insurance should not prevent eligible patients from receiving the healthcare they need to stay healthy.

As a clinic serving the working uninsured adults of Middle Georgia, we provide compassionate, high-quality care focused on prevention, wellness, and helping our patients stay healthy for themselves, their families, and their communities.

This month, we encourage everyone to check with their healthcare provider to make sure their vaccinations are up to date.
