The date for the Big Gay Dance Party has changed to June 27!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the upcoming Big Gay Dance Party originally scheduled for June 20 has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 27. We apologize for the inconvenience. We’re still so excited to dance our hearts out with you next month, even if it’s a week after we’d originally planned!

Now on June 27: The Lavender Lodge and the Academy Center of the Arts are proud to present the Big Gay Dance Party. For the third year in a row, the Academy Warehouse Theatre will transform into Lynchburg’s hottest gay club. Dance the night away to q***r anthems, grab a drink at the bar, fuel up on tasty snacks, and party your heart out! 🏳️‍🌈🪩🦋

When: Saturday, June 27, from 8-11 p.m.

Where: Academy Warehouse Theatre (519 Commerce St, Lynchburg, VA 24504)

Who: LGBTQIA+ people and allies ages 21+ are welcome.

This month Lynchburg QTH will be meeting at the Lavender Lodge in order to host a firearm safety training event. We will begin our time together with our usual QTH content, allow for a transition time, and then begin the firearm safety training. The course will include a basic firearm safety presentation, reviewing Virginia laws on the subject, and hands on experience to learn how to safely handle and unload different fi****ms. There will be no live ammo on the premises.
Due to the location being semi private, this event is limited to those who are already involved in QTH & LL.

Hoy, el 4 de enero a las 3 de la tarde, la Colectiva LGBTQIA+ de Lynchburg nos reunimos en 4415 Boonsboro Rd, Lynchburg, VA. Hablaremos de la historia de la opresión de los inmigrantes en los Estados Unidos y la resistencia que busca justicia para ellos. También discutiremos los problemas que enfrentan las comunidades LGBTQIA+ y inmigrantes de Lynchburg y cómo podemos lograr un futuro más inclusivo para todos. ¡Acompáñenos!

La clase en español comenzará a las 3. Después, tendremos una versión en inglés a las 4. Todos son bienvenidos.

Today, Jan. 4, Lynchburg Q***r Town Hall will meet at 4415 Boonsboro Road, Lynchburg, VA. We’re hosting a special Immigrant Justice Workshop, during which we’ll discuss the history of the oppression of immigrants in the U.S. and the resistance movements fighting for immigrant justice. As always, we will also have a town hall portion, in which we’ll discuss the issues facing the local LGBTQIA+ community today and brainstorm ways to create a more inclusive and just future for both immigrant and LGBTQIA+ communities. Join us!

The Spanish version of the workshop will start at 3 p.m. Afterwards, at 4 p.m., we’ll meet and host the workshop in English. If you don’t speak Spanish, feel free to arrive at 4 p.m.—or come early at 3 if you’d like to sit in on the Spanish language version. Whatever you prefer. All are welcome!
