Today, we’re celebrating Lindsay’s 2-year work anniversary!

As our Coordinated Entry Specialist, Lindsay is often one of the first people individuals and families connect with when they’re facing a housing crisis. With compassion, patience, and a deep knowledge of our community’s resources, she helps ensure each person is connected to the support that best meets their unique needs.

Behind the scenes, Lindsay also works to strengthen our coordinated entry system, foster collaboration among community partners, and make it easier for our neighbors facing homelessness to access housing and services. Her thoughtful approach and commitment to continuous improvement help create a more responsive and equitable homeless response system for our entire region.

Lindsay, thank you for two years of helping individuals find resources, stability, and hope. We’re so grateful you’re part of the !

The work being done each day in our Community First program ensures that families have BOTH the opportunity to quickly move out of homelessness AND the services they need to gain housing stability for years to come. Liz’s story*, below, perfectly reflects the importance of this multi-faceted approach to homeless response:

Following a period of instability and homelessness, Liz and her daughters were connected with our Community First program. Our team provided housing navigation and rental assistance to quickly move Liz and her family into an apartment that met their needs. Once in housing, Liz worked with our team to ensure she had all the support necessary to maintain her new home: budgeting assistance, mental health services, and the opportunity to receive income. Today Liz and her daughters are thriving! Liz is able to afford her rent with her income, participates in ongoing services such as counseling and is supporting her daughters as they attend school and participate in extracurricular activities.

When we asked Liz what having the stability of a home means to her, she responded, “Being in my own home means a lot to me, it shows how much I have overcome, how hard I fought to keep my family together. It shows my resilience within myself. I am proud of myself for not giving up on the really hard days and staying strong for my girls.”

We are also proud of Liz and the many parents in our Community First program who have demonstrated incredible strength and resilience. Housing and tailored support is the solution to homelessness.
