Nine years ago, Young Women's Empowerment Academy started with one mission: to empower girls to dream bigger than their circumstances.

Today, that dream has grown into three thriving chapters, hundreds of young women empowered, countless lives changed, and a community committed to raising the next generation of confident leaders.

What started as one dream has grown into 9 years of empowering girls, building leaders, and changing lives.

From one chapter to three... from local workshops to national college tours... from planting seeds to watching young women flourish, we're just getting started.

BUFFALO: Young Women’s Empowerment Academy Applications open NEXT Wednesday BUT we are asking all parents and Empowered Girls to attend a VIRTUAL Interest Meeting FIRST (if you can't attend it will be recorded and required to watch prior to applying). We have taken A LOT of feedback from our girls and parents and this upcoming year is going to be AMAZING!

-Tuesdays will be our Empowered Girl Curriculum Days
-Thursdays will be our Major days- Empowered Girls will have the chance to choose between 5 Majors some on site and off site with our community partners.

Instead of EVERYONE becoming authors, some will open legit businesses, others will get involved and learn how to run community block clubs. Some will learn a new trade or skill, create Art, record music or podcasts, and more!!!!

ALL WILL learn what it takes to buy property and attend a live housing auction. They will be LENDERS and not borrowers. We are raising a generation of WEALTH BUILDERS and World Changers!!!

In Year 9, YWEA continued proving that when girls are exposed to new places, new people, and new possibilities, their confidence grows beyond measure.

From our National Culture & College Tour in Virginia, to visiting HBCU campuses, enjoying our YWEA Beach Day, exploring cultural and historical landmarks, and strengthening lifelong bonds through sisterhood and leadership activities, this year was filled with unforgettable moments that expanded horizons and inspired bigger dreams.

In Year 8, YWEA continued expanding our impact by creating experiences that inspired our girls to dream bigger, lead boldly, and serve their communities.

From our Harrisburg chapter traveling to Dallas, to creating vision boards with Dr. Cheryl Polote-Williamson, participating in the Juneteenth Parade, strengthening new community partnerships, and continuing leadership programming across all of our chapters, our girls saw firsthand what is possible when preparation meets opportunity.

Did you know...

In Year 7, YWEA reached a milestone we had only dreamed about, we hosted our first National Culture & College Tour, bringing together girls from our Harrisburg, Buffalo, and Lynchburg chapters for an unforgettable experience.

Together, our young women visited Bowie State University, Howard University, and North Carolina A&T State University, expanding their vision for higher education and what's possible for their futures.

Harrisburg Chapter also visited the Muhammad Ali Center, where they were inspired by a legacy of courage, leadership, service, and standing for something greater than yourself.

In Year 6, YWEA continued proving that empowerment happens both inside and outside the classroom.

From our Skating Fundraiser and a special lunch with the Mayor, to the Lynchburg Tea Party Graduation and Buffalo girls learning etiquette, sewing, and the importance of giving back through community service, our girls were growing in confidence, character, and leadership every step of the way.

We proudly launched our Lynchburg, Virginia chapter, celebrated its first graduating class, introduced our “It's the Generational Wealth for Me" movement, and watched our Buffalo young women become published authors.

Every milestone reminded us that when you invest in girls, they discover their voice, lead with confidence, and create a legacy that extends far beyond themselves.

✨ 9 Years. 6 Days. Still Thriving. 💜

When the world slowed down, YWEA refused to stop.

Year 4 challenged us in ways we never imagined, but instead of putting our mission on pause, we found new ways to empower the next generation.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we proudly launched our Virtual Empowerment Academy, ensuring our girls stayed connected, inspired, and supported from the safety of their homes.

That same year, 20 incredible young ladies became published authors, proving that even in uncertain times, their voices deserved to be heard. We also launched our YWEA Book Club, creating a space where our girls could grow through reading, meaningful conversations, and sisterhood.

Year 4 reminded us that purpose doesn’t pause during adversity. It adapts, grows, and continues to make an impact.

As we celebrate 9 years of empowering girls, we’re reflecting on the moments that shaped our journey and strengthened our mission.

Thank you for being part of our story. The best is still yet to come. 💜
