The work in Kenya on the Kabunda Preschool continues. They have reached Phase 4 of their construction of a two story structure with 6 classrooms plus a computer lab plus a teacher's workroom & storage. They recently formally dedicated the building and have started using ground floor classrooms while they finish the second floor walls and roof.
Using your donations and gifts, Monterey Foundation has provided funds for Phases 1 thru 3 of this project, and we recently awarded more funding for the Phase 4 work which should finish this building.
The project has received significant funding from local sources as well the Foundation, plus the local church members have done most of the heavy labor, from digging footings and foundations, to pouring concrete, to building walls, and to doing finishing work.
This new school building is quite an achievement and it will serve God's Kingdom for many years, touching many lives, and acting as a lasting legacy of your faithfulness & generosity!

The final summary for the 2026 Fundraising Dinner shows God's blessings have again flowed, enabling us to continue to do the things we have focused on as work in God's Kingdom. Through the dinner receipts, the silent auction results, and the generous donations that came in, we were blessed by so many of you!
We Exceeded our "dinner goal" and have fully funded the plans in place for 2026. One of those plans was to pay off the existing loan on our residential properties. We did that last week and we are now DEBT FREE as an organization. That frees up more funds to be used in Community work, World-wide Missions work, and Education funding.

Monterey Foundation has four residential properties that are used as transitional housing for At-risk or Homeless families.
Our goal is to help them recover, become independent, and learn how to be financially self-supporting while living in a lower cost property.

As of this month, we have all of our houses filled. We are serving four families consisting of 17 souls. We are supporting them with assistance from a Licensed Professional Social Worker as well as help with building budgets & relationships.

We engage with local businesses and non-profits as we try to serve God's Kingdom with these properties.

This past Thursday night was our annual fundraising dinner. We had over 200 people attend to support Monterey Foundation. Pete Christy was our keynote speaker and he did an outstanding job of encouraging each of us to listen for God's call to Love Others and to be willing to help where ever we are needed.
Preliminary results indicate we were very close to our giving goal and that we will be able to do all the things we have planned and expect to need for this upcoming year.

Our 2026 Fundraising Dinner is scheduled for February 12, 2026. Pete Christy, KCBD Sports Director, has agreed to be our guest speaker. The event will include a catered dinner and a Silent Auction. Table for eight - $400; Single Seat - $50.
Doors open at 6:00p for Silent Auction and Fellowship.

This story is one of many where similarly minded, faith-based, people-oriented nonprofits can cooperate and find blessings for families & individuals when needed. Today, a mother of our program was handed the keys to a car — a blessing from Monterey Church of Christ. This gift is more than transportation. It is dignity. It is opportunity. It is hope on four wheels. 💕

For most of us, a car is something we take for granted. But for this mom, it means so much more:
✨ The ability to get to work without fear of losing her job
✨ The freedom to take her children to school and appointments
✨ The chance to build stability, independence, and hope for her family’s future

We had a GREAT Fundraising dinner this past week with Kirby Hocutt, TTU Athletic Director, as our speaker. We fed around 220 attendees, held a silent auction and a live auction, and heard some inspiring stories. Thanks for being there!!
