The Young Marines strengthens the lives of America's youth!

We are the South Plains Young Marines, located in Lubbock, Texas and are proud to be a part of our nation’s premiere, award-winning program for boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18.

Today the South Plains Young Marines held our Change of Command ceremony.

As Mrs. Brandi Cuellar prepares to ship out Monday to begin her career in the United States Army, she has passed command of the unit to Mr. Dougall MacDougall. Please join us in welcoming Mr. MacDougall back as Unit Commander — he previously served in this role, and we're glad to have him return.

We also celebrated the Young Marines birthday today — 67 years since the program began in 1959. Following Marine Corps tradition, the birthday cake was cut with a sword, and pieces were shared between the oldest and youngest Young Marines present — a symbol of experience and knowledge being passed from one generation to the next.

Thank you to all the families, volunteers, and supporters who stand behind this unit.

🚗💦 WHAT A DAY WITH OUR YOUNG MARINES! 💦🚗

Today's car wash fundraiser turned into so much more than just cleaning cars! When things slowed down, our Young Marines and Recruits kept the energy high with football throws, volleyball hits, and knocking out sign-offs left and right! 🏈🏐

We're proud to share that 3 Young Marines are now eligible for promotion, and our Recruits are graduation bound! 🎉 Their hard work and dedication really shone through today.

Thank you to everyone who came out, bought a ticket, and supported our unit — you helped make today a great one.
