Nearly 692,000 jobs across Southern California are connected to the Port of Long Beach.

Think about what that means for a young girl growing up here.

There are thousands of pathways around her. Careers in technology, construction, transportation, finance, manufacturing, logistics and so much more.

But opportunity means more when you can see it.

That is why we take our girls beyond the classroom and into real spaces where they can meet professionals, ask questions, experience new environments and see what their future could look like.

Because sometimes a girl doesn't need another person to tell her what's possible.

She needs the opportunity to see it for herself.

That is what experiences like visiting the Port of Long Beach are about.

WE DID IT!

Because of you, DemoChicks raised $6,020 from 30 donors through Long Beach Gives.

Every gift represents someone choosing to believe that young women and girls deserve access to opportunities, mentors, and experiences that help them see themselves in Architecture, Construction, Engineering, STEM, and the trades.

Since 2019, DemoChicks has been opening doors, creating experiences, and helping girls discover what they are capable of.

To everyone who donated, shared our campaign, encouraged someone else to give, or simply believed in this mission, thank you.

You are helping us build a future where more girls can see themselves as creators, problem solvers, leaders, and professionals.

We are grateful to have you building with us.

$6,020 raised. 30 donors. One community investing in the next generation.

Give for good. Give for girls. Give for their future.

Today is Long Beach Gives, a citywide day of giving that brings our community together to support local nonprofits.

Your donation to DemoChicks helps us create opportunities for girls to explore STEM, the trades, and the careers shaping the future of Southern California.

This year, 11 girls visited real construction sites, explored professional spaces, met industry leaders, and experienced what’s possible through our Build Girls Up program.

Help us reach more girls.

Applications are open for the 2026 to 2027 DemoChicks Build Girls Up Youth Program. Apply by October 1st.

If you have a daughter, niece, granddaughter, or young woman in your life who is curious about how things are designed, built, and engineered, this opportunity is for her.

Tell your neighbors. Tell your relatives. Share this with a family who needs to see it.

This year, 11 girls had the opportunity to thrive in Build Girls Up. They visited real construction sites and professional offices, met women leading the way in Architecture, Construction, and Engineering, and had conversations with the people building the future of Southern California.

They walked into spaces they may have never imagined themselves in and began to see what could be possible for their own futures.

That is why programs like Build Girls Up matter. Sometimes a girl simply needs the opportunity to see it, experience it, and meet someone who shows her that she belongs there.

Applications are open through October 1st.

Apply at dhttps://demochicks.org/build-girls-up or scan the QR code.

A little math, a lot of confidence.

One of our 6 year old Demochicks is putting her problem solving skills to work. By drawing shapes to solve an addition problem, she’s building the foundation for mathematical thinking, critical thinking, and confidence.

We believe learning starts with curiosity. We create opportunities for girls to explore, build, solve, and discover what they’re capable of.

Today it’s addition. Tomorrow, who knows what she’ll build?
