I first met Noah when he was a Junior in High School and was immediately drawn to his appetite for learning and questioning the status quo. I've found that hierarchical dynamics often limit the fullness of relationship, and I've been blessed to meet people who help me stay grounded in shoulder-to-shoulder ways of being. He was one of those old souls in a young person's body, and I can't begin to measure the childlike wonder I've gained spending time with Noah discussing big life topics like the state of the world, the need for belonging, and the true facts of Cuttlefish. Did you know Cuttlefish can transform into many colors and textures almost instantaneously, but they're blind?? I didn't... 🙃
From receiving the love since the first Wilderwonder 2014 to now giving the love as an adult, Noah has joined us for Campouts and service trips, organized his neighborhood to make and distribute Home-y Made Meals in the height of the pandemic, supported Skid Row artist events on his own, and served as a Coordinator for Wilderwonder 2022.
At the gala, we want to recognize Noah and Lance because of how they've journeyed with us across the 10 year Eayikes universe. We're excited to host a conversation with them about their experiences. Life is so precious, and to spend it in community building a better world is a dream. Thank you Noah for believing in Eayikes, thanks y'all for your continued support of our mission all these years!!
