DAYS Long Beach braved the heat and was out in community this past weekend on Saturday, Oct. 3 alongside CLIMB Central Long Beach giving out lots & lots of FREE groceries for families at Lincoln Elementary. We were happy to give away veggies & fruits such as carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, strawberries, brussels sprouts, broccoli, oranges, & more!

Families were also given information about the Safe Passage program as well, encouraging guardians to be an active part of the safety efforts along school routes in Central Long Beach.

A HUGE thanks to the American Heart Association for providing the much needed food for our local families and all the volunteers with CLIMB and DAYS/Safe Passage for volunteering on a scorcher of a day! 😊

A HUGE THANK YOU to ALL who've made their mark and donated in support of DAYS Long Beach this Long Beach Gives ! We've almost reached our goal! LB Gives ends in just a few hours and your gift can still make a difference for our youth and families. Help us reach $23,000! 🧡

Please consider supporting DAYS Long Beach and help us continue serving our community through programs such as Safe Passage, which brings the presence of trained, adult-volunteer supervisors along routes that students, parents, and neighbors travel through on their way to and from school. These volunteers help reduce the chance that students, parents, and community members experience violence, harassment, and other unsafe situations along school routes.

Funding is critical to keep important programs like these running to keep school routes in Central Long Beach safe. Support Safe Passage and donate now. Thank you: www.longbeachgives.org/organization/days-long-beach
