Happy to be with Pam Chotiswatdi, our board president, to help raise awareness about homelessness. This is the first Long Beach Film festival. What a great topic!!!

We just watched the first screening of "Rescued" about a homeless man and the dog that rescued him"at the art theater. Now listening to the lead actor talk about his experience. He worked with us to do research. Many unhoused people have a pet. The non profit below helps us get pet food to the animals that love their unhoused friends.

Our very first commercial refrigerator is being put out to pasture! We've used it for 7 years and it has served the community well! We now have 30 and we're about to get 2 new ones from a program that provides low energy fridges and freezers. They will also replace our lights for free with more energy efficient ones! We are in a very challenging time for most Americans. The cost of living has gone through the roof while tons of people are losing jobs to automation and AI. Those that have their jobs still are likely getting paid a small percentage higher than the people in their role 30 years ago - not even remotely matching inflation. People are having to choose between eating and seeing a doctor and getting their necessary dosage of medication. Or they did see a doctor and are now drowning in medical bills.

It is not only important, but ESSENTIAL that we care for those struggling. Because things are HARD right now. Because the standard of living for those in poverty shouldn't be starving outside in one of the most powerful nations on the planet. Because we're a community. Because we're all living beings.

Don't let these tough times harden you. Let it push you to be a more impactful servant for your community. Get involved!

We desperately need more monthly donors to give us more foundation for our organization! Everything we offer is free, but we pay for transportation, insurance, rent, electricity for many many refrigerators. First off - thank you 🙏 your compassion is what makes community possible.

Secondly, it's that time of year again! Long Beach Gives is the largest fundraiser we do all year, and we need to do really well this year.

Having our community set up these "peer-to-peer" fundraiser pages and sharing with their friends and family via email, text, social media is one of the most important ways we can get the word out! We reach new people and they get to hear firsthand from someone they love and trust that LB Community Table is worth donating to.

It would truly mean the world to us and the 24,000 people that rely on us monthly!!

The school year is here!! Help out our low-income students and teachers by bringing school supplies to our Open Pantry!

Hours:
Tuesday 5:30-7 pm
Wednesday 5:30-7 pm
Friday 12-4 pm
Saturday 12-2 pm

It's so important we show up for each other in ways like these. NO kid deserves a less fruitful educational experience because of the cost of supplies. And NO teacher should be paying out of pocket for supplies at all.
