Meet the founder & Exectutive Director behind the vision. ✨
Babydoll Spencer was born and raised in Watts, CA, where her passion for community began early. As a child she volunteered giving toys to youth and helping feed the unhoused through the Restoration Foundation, where late philanthropist Mildred Benson gave her the nickname “Governor” because of her natural leadership and drive to help others.
After moving to Atlanta to pursue college and graduating with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, Babydoll built experience producing fashion shows, planning events, designing, developing merchandise, and leading creative projects.
Today, she continues that same mission through State of Innovation, creating pathways, opportunities, programs and resources so youth in underserved communities can develop their talents and build successful futures.
