LBCEI was proud to table at Franklin Middle School’s End of Year Celebration this past Saturday and be part of a powerful community effort supporting students and families.

Through partnership, connection, and coordination, LBCEI helped bring digital equity resources directly to the Franklin community — helping create access to laptops, hotspots, family support, and information that can make a real difference beyond one event.

For many students, access to technology is access to opportunity. It means being able to complete schoolwork, stay connected, build digital skills, and participate more fully in their education.

We are grateful to Franklin Middle School for welcoming us, to TruConnected for helping provide devices and connectivity resources, and to LB Forward, DAYS LB, and every community partner who helped make this celebration meaningful.

This is what economic inclusion looks like in action: meeting families where they are, building trusted partnerships, and connecting communities to resources that support long-term success.

LBCEI was grateful to be part of the Heart of Youth Justice Reimagined Long Beach Workgroup workshop at Long Beach City College this past Wednesday. 💛
This gathering brought together young people, community partners, and local leaders for an important conversation about youth voice, leadership, and the decisions that impact our communities. 🗣️✨
A special thank you to the Heart of Youth Justice Reimagined team, LBCC, and everyone who helped make the session possible. Spaces like this matter because they create room for young people to be heard, supported, and connected to change. 🤝🌱

📚✨ We had an amazing time at CLIMB Central Long Beach's 12th Annual Literacy Fair, Reading in the LB SEA this past Saturday! (Sorry for the late post!)

This event brought the community together to celebrate the power of reading while connecting families with local resources that support youth literacy. We loved being part of this incredible day and engaging directly with attendees. Thank you for having us! 🌊📖

Food access takes more than one organization. It takes coordination, transportation, volunteers, and trusted partners working together.

LBCEI serves as a community food pantry site in Long Beach, helping residents and families access food through weekly distributions and partner-supported programs.

One example is our long-standing partnership with Staci Loveridge of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Long Beach.

Since 2020, Staci has helped support our Wednesday fresh produce distributions and the behind-the-scenes coordination that helps food move beyond one location and reach more families.
Recently, Staci offered additional food for LBCEI’s community distribution, continuing the shared support that keeps this work moving.

A special thank you to E.T. of Traditional Urban Catholic for assisting with the pickup and delivery when additional support was needed.

This collaboration is part of a broader Long Beach effort that helps serve over 6,000 people each month.

Different communities. Different backgrounds. Shared responsibility.
