🐾 Abandoned and left tied to a tree in Mexico. Can we help her find a home? 🐾

Last night, Pound Pitties Dog Rescue received a message from Por Los Animales in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.

One of their fosters discovered this beautiful female pittie tied to a tree, abandoned without food or water. 💔

Imagine being left behind, tied to a tree, unable to find food, water, or even understand why your family never came back.

Thankfully, someone cared enough to save her.

The rescue reached out to us, hoping we could help find this sweet girl a loving home here in Colorado.

Here’s what we know about her:

🐾 Approximately 1 year old
🐾 Dog friendly
🐾 Potty trained
🐾 Crate training is unknown
🐾 Will be fully vetted in Mexico before traveling

The amazing people at Por Los Animales have even offered to transport her to Colorado if we can find a safe, loving place for her to land!

We would love nothing more than to help this girl get the second chance she deserves. But we need someone willing to open their heart and home.

We are looking for a committed foster or potential adopter in the Denver metro area.

She’s already been abandoned once. We want to make sure the next chapter of her life is filled with nothing but love, security, and kindness.

Midnight went trick or treating! 🎃
He is s looking for his furever home!

It is hard to believe this is the same dog we rescued. Midnight has come so far over the past year. Watching him heal, learn to trust, and finally enjoy life has been one of the most rewarding journeys we’ve ever witnessed.

Because of the trauma he endured as a bait dog, Midnight does need to be the only dog in the home. But don’t let that stop you from meeting him—he is truly something special.

🐾❤️ OUR SWEET POPCORN IS STILL SEARCHING FOR HER FOREVER HOME! ❤️🐾

Here we are again, hoping that somewhere out there is the perfect person for our sweet Popcorn.

Popcorn has been through so much, and more than anything, we want to find her a loving, stable home where she can finally settle in and know she’s HOME.

We want to be completely transparent about who Popcorn is, what we know about her, and what she needs to be successful.

First, let’s talk about her age! The shelter originally told us she was 5 years old. Since then, different veterinarians have given us different estimates. We believe she’s approximately 2 years old, but we honestly aren’t certain.

❤️ Here’s what we DO know about Popcorn!

🐾 She’s dog friendly!

🐾 She’s cat friendly!

🐾 She’s kid friendly!

🐾 She’s potty trained!

🐾 She’s spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped!

🐾 She knows some basic tricks!

🐾 She loves to play and gets the cutest zoomies!

🐾 She’s also perfectly happy being a couch potato and relaxing with her people!

🐾 She’s VERY food motivated!

And speaking of food… let’s talk about that! 😂

Popcorn is a counter surfer! If you leave food on the counter, table, or anywhere she can access it without supervision, she’s probably going to eat it!

And let’s be realistic, most dogs would!

We want her future family to understand this so they can be proactive about keeping food put away and out of reach. She’s a dog, and she’s going to do dog things!

Now, let’s talk about her biggest challenge: separation anxiety. 💔

Popcorn suffers from severe separation anxiety. She cannot currently be crated or left home alone.

We understand that people have responsibilities. Grocery shopping, doctor appointments, errands, and everyday life don’t stop because you have a dog.

But Popcorn needs a home where someone can consistently be with her while she works through her anxiety.

She does have separation anxiety medication and a professional training program available. Per her trainer, the training should begin with her permanent adopter so she can develop consistency, security, and trust in her forever home.

With proper training, she MAY eventually be able to stay alone for a few hours. But we cannot guarantee that. We simply won’t know what she’s capable of until that training is completed.

So what kind of home are we looking for?

Ideally, someone who is retired, works from home with flexibility, or has a household where someone can consistently be present.

Someone who has patience, understands separation anxiety, and is willing to work with her rather than expect her to change overnight.

Someone who understands that adopting a dog means accepting their quirks, their challenges, and everything that makes them who they are.

Most importantly, we’re asking for complete honesty about your lifestyle, schedule, and ability to meet her needs.

Not every home will be the right fit for Popcorn, and that’s okay! Our responsibility is to make sure we find the home that IS.

We don’t want to put Popcorn through unnecessary transitions. Every change is another adjustment for a dog who already struggles with feeling secure.

Popcorn isn’t a bad dog. She’s not a broken dog. She’s simply a dog who needs a little more reassurance than most. ❤️

She’s loving, playful, silly, affectionate, and has so much happiness to bring to someone’s life.

She deserves someone who will see all the wonderful things about her instead of focusing only on her challenges.

We know her needs make finding the right home more difficult. But we refuse to believe there isn’t someone out there who would be absolutely perfect for her.

We aren’t looking for just ANY home. We’re looking for HER home.

A home where she can finally unpack her bags, feel safe, and never have to wonder where she belongs again.

KODA IS READY FOR HIS TV DEBUT!

Can we PLEASE talk about how ridiculously adorable this boy is in his little shark outfit?!

Between those gorgeous eyes, his precious little bottom teefies, and that face that could melt even the coldest heart… HOW could anyone NOT fall in love with him?!

And let me tell you, Koda was a HIT at the studio! Everyone absolutely loved him! And honestly, can you blame them?!

This sweet boy went from wandering the streets of Texas to becoming a little TV star in Colorado! Now all he needs is his happily ever after!

💔 DEVASTATING UPDATE 💔

We have the heartbreaking news no one wanted to share… we lost our sweet little girl. 🥹💔

She fought so incredibly hard, but her fragile little body was simply too weak. We tried everything we could, including a plasma transfer, but unfortunately it was unsuccessful. She was also far too young to receive the monoclonal antibody treatment that may have helped her.

We are completely devastated. These babies were supposed to have a chance, and losing her has absolutely broken our hearts. 💔

Thankfully, her brothers are doing well right now, and we are praying they continue to fight and pull through. 🙏🏻

These puppies are being fostered in New Mexico by LuckyCharm Microfarm, who is partnering with Pound Pitties Dog Rescue to care for these babies and give them every possible chance. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and for everything they are doing on the ground for these little ones. ❤️

But we still need your help. We have a significant emergency vet bill from trying to save this little girl, and we still have ongoing medical expenses for her brothers. We will continue doing everything we can for these babies, but we cannot do it without our village.

💔 THE ROSWELL PUPPIES ARE SICK. AND THEY ARE VERYSICK. 💔

Our four-week-old Roswell puppies are crashing.

Our little girl is in particularly bad shape and had to be rushed to the emergency vet yesterday. Their white blood cell counts are dangerously low, and the vets are concerned they may have parvo.

This was completely unexpected—but sadly, coming from Roswell, we aren’t surprised that these babies arrived with more going on than we could see.

They are only FOUR WEEKS OLD and weigh barely 2 pounds. They are far too young for vaccines, and you cannot vaccinate a sick puppy. Right now, they need intensive medical care, monitoring, and time to fight.

And we are going to give them every chance we possibly can.

These babies have already been failed by humans. They didn’t ask to be born into a situation where they were left vulnerable and sick. They are innocent little babies who deserve the chance to grow up, be loved, and know what a safe life feels like.

We know you’re probably tired of seeing us ask for money. Trust us, we are tired of asking. But emergency vet bills don’t care whether our rescue account is prepared for them.

We cannot look at a four-week-old puppy who is fighting for her life and say, “We can’t afford it.”

So we’re asking for help.

Whatever you can spare—$5, $10, $20—can help us keep getting these babies the care they need. If you would rather donate directly to the veterinary hospital, you can also call the vet and make a donation toward their bill. We are happy to provide the hospital information privately.

We love these babies. Our hearts are absolutely breaking watching them fight this hard.
