What if a gift to Lexington’s future could also reduce your Kentucky tax bill?

Through the Endow Kentucky Tax Credit, gifts to eligible endowment funds can qualify for up to a 20% Kentucky state tax credit. That means a $5,000 gift could reduce your state taxes by $1,000 — while also helping support the causes and community you care about for years to come.

The statewide pool of available tax credits opens July 1 and is limited, so planning ahead matters. Learn more about how the Endow Kentucky program works and how gifts to the Fund for Greater Lexington can help invest in Lexington’s future here: https://buff.ly/jpMReam.

Housing is one of Lexington's most pressing challenges, affecting families, young adults, employees, and longtime residents across our community.

At the Fund for Greater Lexington, we are actively meeting with local stakeholders to better understand where we can help. We believe meaningful solutions will come through partnership and long-term investment in our city. We look forward to sharing more as this work continues!

The Fund for Greater Lexington's mission is made possible by generous giving from both community members and corporate partners. Vulcan Materials Company, the nation's largest producer of construction aggregates, generously gave to the Fund for Greater Lexington's endowment in 2025. Vulcan's support will help create a lasting impact on Lexington for generations. We value our shared commitment to strengthening our community, and we look forward to our continued partnership! Thank you, Vulcan!

For more information on our partnership with Vulcan, check out our podcast on here: https://buff.ly/KKwVuRB.

LexRide is just one example of what can happen when community partners come together around a common goal: together, we create a Lexington that is more connected, accessible, and vibrant.

As a permanent endowment, the Fund for Greater Lexington supports projects like LexRide through charitable giving and partnerships to help invest in the future of our city for generations to come.

This week, we're excited to introduce a new member of our board, Kristy Maggard!

"I believe in investing intentionally in the place I call home. Lexington’s strength has always come from people who care deeply about its future, and the Fund provides a meaningful way to support leaders, ideas, and initiatives that make our community stronger, more connected, and more forward-thinking. I love Lexington because it offers the best of so many worlds in one place. It has the energy and pride of a true college town, a surprisingly strong foodie scene, and a thriving business community that feels both ambitious and accessible. And at the same time, it’s a wonderful place to raise a family—safe, welcoming, and grounded in tradition. What truly sets Lexington apart, though, is its sense of community. People show up for each other, support local businesses, and take pride in where they live, which makes the city feel not just like home, but like it belongs to all of us."

We are thrilled to announce the deployment of LexRide, a new seasonal downtown circulator service beginning April 2, 2026. In partnership with Lextran, VisitLex, LexPark, Downtown Lexington Partnership, and the Fund for Greater Lexington, LexRide is designed to not only connect some of Lexington's popular entertainment destinations, but to reduce traffic congestion, connect cultural hubs, and enhance connectivity to historically underserved areas.

How and Where To Ride:
🟡 Service begins April 2, 2026 with routes running from 4pm - midnight Friday-Sunday
🟡 Riders can expect buses every 12-15 minutes at each stop
🟡 LexRide can be tracked in real-time through the MyStop App
🟡 Each ride is $1 and can be paid with cash, tap-to-pay, and card on the bus

We are honored to announce our new Board Chair, Olivia Davis, CPA, DBA. A fifth-generation Lexingtonian, Olivia brings deep roots and a clear vision for strengthening and growing the endowment to serve Lexington for generations to come.

"Lexington is home, not just because of my family's history here, but because it's a place where creativity, connection, and community matter. It's a city that values its roots while still being willing to imagine what's possible. I also love raising my children here. Seeing them engage with the arts through dance, theater, and music has reinforced how important access, opportunity, community and investment are in shaping the next generation."

Last month, the Fund for Greater Lexington introduced the all-new Kelley's Landing Fundraising Task Force, a dedicated group of individuals working to raise funds to implement the Kelley’s Landing Master Plan. With guided kayak tours on the river, a reception, stunning views, and the opportunity to learn more about the Master Plan's final iteration, we had a great time! The task force is another example of public-private collaboration for Kelley’s Landing, a Lexington Parks & Recreation natural areas park, following the Fund for Greater Lexington's investment in a robust master plan.

We look forward to hearing more about the task force’s progress in the months ahead. Stay tuned!
