A trial heavily leans on the often unsung heroes - the setout crew. This year our Open field setout was expertly executed by the Watt Family: Gordon & Kerry Watt & Sophie Hemmings.

Long, long days, and the sets were managed very well.

We are lucky to have such an amazing and capable crew to support the trial. A deep, heart-felt thank you to them! You were amazing.

Congratulations to the 2026 Bluegrass Champions, Blake Byrum and Indy!

On behalf of the board, we want to thank all the volunteers and sponsors who helped make the 2026 Bluegrass a success. It truly takes a village to pull off such an event. From the first t-post driven into the ground to fencing, tarping, score runners, scribes,
set-out, and exhaust, the work is never-ending. Without all of you, we could not have accomplished this.

Thank you to our judges, Fraser Shennan and Ben Smith, for providing their expertise and sharing their knowledge. They approached long days and endless questions with a smile.

As always, Steven Armos and the hospitality team ensured that everyone was taken care of, allowing everyone to sit back and enjoy this beautiful Kentucky trial field.

Thank you to all the handlers for making the Bluegrass Classic what it is: a long-standing tradition and a gathering of the best dogs on the continent.

Lastly, thank you to the Border Collies and sheep that allow us to enjoy not just a great sport, but a lifestyle that makes life worthwhile.
