The Lurie Center for Autism invites you to join Brett Mulder, PsyD, and Jack Lewis, MEd, for a virtual presentation and discussion on navigating the transition to college for autistic individuals. While academic ability is rarely the primary challenge, the transition from the structured supports of high school to the increased independence of college can reveal functional, executive functioning, and emotional challenges. This session will explore the key components of college readiness and provide parents and caregivers with practical strategies for supporting their child's transition. Topics will include evaluating college support services, identifying programs that promote college readiness, and understanding how to find the best fit for a student's individual strengths and support needs.

Summer Camp Highlights from Aspire!

Last week, despite the rainy weather, campers had another wonderful week at Hale Education!

Highlights included spotting wildlife on the trails (including a deer, owl, and giant snapping turtle!), creative clay projects in Art, STEAM teamwork challenges, camp spirit activities, and Trailblazer adventures to Powissett Farm and the Museum of Fine Arts.

As we finish our final week of summer programming, we’re celebrating the connections, growth, and accomplishments that have made this summer so special for our campers.

Last week at Aspire Adventure Camp, creativity and problem-solving were on full display!

During STEAM, they put their engineering skills to the test by designing zip-lines, boats, and other rescue devices to save their "phoenix eggs" from peril. We're happy to report it was a successful quest to eggscape the underworld!

Our Choices block gave campers even more opportunities to explore their creativity and collaborate with friends. Activities included rock painting, building marshmallow and toothpick towers, folding paper wishing stars, and creating a LEGO zip-line.
