Lewisville Local 3606 pauses today to remember a man who gave everything to keep this city safe and to build the fire fighters you see today.

Three years ago, we lost our mentor and our friend, Division Chief John "John Boy" Ashman.

Words don't quite cover what Chief Ashman meant to this department or to the fire service. But we'll try.

He poured his wisdom into every member of this local and into every fire fighter who crossed his path. His passion for the job was contagious. His knowledge of the fire service went well past anything you'd find in a book. It came from decades of doing the work, learning the lessons, and never forgetting them.

He was also sharp, funny, and quick to lighten the mood when it needed it most. His reach went far beyond Lewisville. He helped other departments with training, with truck design, with whatever they called him about. His phone was always on.

So today, join us in honoring and remembering Division Chief John Ashman.

We miss you, John Boy. Thank you for everything.

There are moments that remind us what is truly important.

Members of our fire family are in one of those moments right now.

Their 19 month old son is fighting something no child should ever have to face. He has already been through surgery. But there is a long road ahead of him. And through all of it, he is showing a kind of strength that is hard to put into words.

This is where we lean on each other. Not just as fire fighters, but as a community.

If you have already donated, thank you. It matters more than you know. If you have been meaning to, now is the time.

No matter the size of support, you can help take some of the unimaginable weight off this family and give them the space to focus on their son.

The fire service is built on tradition, and the foundation is family. When our family needs us, we take care of our own.

Stand with this family. Keep them in your prayers. And if you can, help carry them through what comes next.

The Lewisville Fire Fighters Association is asking our community to stand with one of our own.

On April 16th, a member of our department and his family received news no parent should ever hear. Their 19-month-old son, a happy and otherwise healthy little boy, was diagnosed with a large malignant tumor on his left kidney.

Within days, he underwent a four-hour surgery. The tumor and his kidney were successfully removed, and he is now recovering. The strength this little boy has already shown is incredible.

But this is just the beginning.

He now faces chemotherapy and additional treatments to make sure the cancer is gone. The road ahead is going to be long, and this family is stepping into a fight that will take everything they have.

When one of our own is in need, we show up. That is what we do.

Now we are asking our community to show up with us.

If you are able, please consider making a donation. Every dollar helps ease the burden on this family so they can stay focused on what matters most, their son.

Stand with them. Support them. Help carry them through the road ahead.
