WOW! What a weekend. Today was our Sunday NASCAR season ender. We cannot say enough to thank Peak Hobbies for doing so much to support the community and hosting the club. This event highlighted the very spirit of NASCAR and what RC racing means to those who dedicated so much time in the pursuit of excellence.

This was a record event for the club with 24 drivers and 45 entries. We turned over 3,700 laps blowing away the previous record. We ran four classes with a full program.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
- Watching Jax starting in the B-Main, holding on to a solid win, then taking the #2 spot in the A-main. Incredible driving from this young racer.
- Father and Son dynamic duo: Paul and Jonathan taking the #1 and #3 spot in the Pure Stock A Main. It was an exhilarating race.
- Our Pac-Man race was pure chaotic fun. Congrats to the ghosts, and congrats to RP (our pac-man) who managed to work through a tough field and "eat" all the ghosts. Jonathan received the Pac-Man body from RP as our top youth racer.z
- The Pioneer class had a strong showing with Teagan, Scott, and Sophia all gaining the podium spots. Really exciting to see these young racers grow in the hobby.
- Pro Stock class offered some very competitive racing with Ben and Jake from the BCU hobbies RC community group giving RP a run for his win.

So many people worked together to make today possible. Big thanks to Justin for tech'ing all the Pure Stock cars, Greg for announcing the Grom races, John for cooking the food, and the many others who helped. It was a community effort all around.

The club will be back out Saturday, June 6th @6:30pm to race Mini-Z at Peak Hobbies. I saw that RP bought a car. Watch out Mini-Z racers!

Big thanks to our Mini-Z racers tonight. It was a total team effort. Special thanks to Shay for building the timing bridge plaque (it looks awesome), Justin for printing the track braces, Doug for helping with car and track setup, Austin for computer setup, and Peak Hobbies for hosting us. Finally, thank you to everyone who came to race or watch. We will be back EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT. Now, time to prep for a MEGA NASCAR event - 11am Sunday morning!

EPIC WEEKEND OF FUN! The Lehi RC Club will be participating in three events. Check them out!

Friday (Today, 5/29, 7pm): We will be supporting F.U Freddie's Raceway with carpet Mini-Z/Micro-B, micro crawling, and mini off-road carpet RC fun. It is a great way to develop cars in a relaxed atmosphere.

Saturday (5/30, 6:30pm): The LRCC will be running its first official Mini-Z race, sponsored and hosted by Peak Hobbies in Saratoga Springs. The track also works well for Micro-B style cars. Beginner and family friendly.

Sunday (5/31, 11am): The LRCC is holding its final spring season race with a BIG finish. PRIZES! FUN! And a FULL PROGRAM! Classes include Pioneer, Grom (mixed class), Pure Stock NASCAR, and Pro Stock NASCAR. We will have a grand prize for Pure Stock, raffles, giveaways for kids, and more. You won't want to miss this one.

🚨Two MASSIVE events this weekend! 🚨

Get ready for some incredible RC fun. The LRCC is happy to announce TWO FREE family-friendly events this weekend. It is going to be EPIC!

❗ Saturday, May 30th, 6:30pm: MINI-Z & MICRO-B INDOOR RACING at Peak Hobbies in Saratoga Springs! This style of racing features miniature cars running on a smooth foam track. It is highly competitive with a global community of dedicated racers. We will also be announcing the winner of the LRCC SECRET CONTEST (if you know, you know).

❗ Sunday, May 31st, 11am: Losi NASCAR & Arrma Grom SEASON CLOSER! This will be our MAJOR season closer with a FULL racing program! Warm-ups, two quals, and tiered mains with bump-ups. We will have BIG prizes, a club raffle, and RC games! Bring camping chairs, a canopy, and get ready for a ROWDY NASCAR THEMED time!

BEGINNER? CURIOUS? We've got you! We help all new racers get started and understand what is going on. All quals and mains are heads-up style racing allowing you to jump into fun or leave early to match your personal schedule.

SEASON EXTENDED!

We are happy to announce we are extending our NASCAR season one more week! We felt so bad about the call on the weather last week and we want a do-over. Let's finish the season at Peak Hobbies, where it all started. And yes, we are still starting Mini-Z on the 30th!

SCHEDULE:
THIS SUNDAY 5/24: Joint NASCAR race with the Happy Valley Racers. This is a really important initiative for the club. We want to help the HVR group as they start their NASCAR journey. We believe having multiple clubs racing every week across the state is going to open up some awesome opportunities for our racers. More details to come!

SATURDAY (5/30): Our first official LRCC Mini-Z race! Look for an announcement soon. This is a total blast, and will give us something indoors to do as the weather warms up.

SUNDAY (5/31): NASCAR Season Closer Peak Hobbies. We are leaning toward an earlier start (TBD) so we can run a FULL program! Warm-ups, two quals, and mains! There will be plenty of options for people to arrive and jump in as their schedules allow. We hope to have some prizes to give away as well.

CRAWLERS: Do not forget that we have many groups that are holding weekly crawling events. We encourage club members to check out Happy Valley Crawlers and Rocky Mountain Krawlerz (Rocky Krawlerz). Both groups run excellent events.

Big thanks to all the pros who came to support our test Mini-Z race tonight hosted by Peak Hobbies. We learned a great deal from Doug, Kelly, and Nick who came down from the SLC Mini-Z group. They really opened our eyes in terms of what is possible with these cars. We are planning our first official Mini-Z race for May 30th, so pencil that in.

Our season closer NASCAR race will be this Sunday, and will be held in Orem. Announcement coming soon.

The LRCC had a fantastic time with the Happy Valley Racers and their first race! They had a nice setup down in Orem. They plan to race Sunday evenings through the summer. It was a great group of people. Big thanks to everyone who came out and made it special.

The LRCC Sunday race has been postponed due to weather. We are meeting up for lunch instead. Slim Chickens, Lehi, 1pm. Bring mini RCs for some fun on the tables. :)

WEATHER NOT FAVORABLE FOR RACING.

We know this is a bummer, and believe me we may be the most disappointed of all. After carefully looking at the latest available weather situation, we do not believe conditions will be favorable for racing. We want to make sure every racer who comes out has a good time. With the high winds and unpredictable rain possible, we've made the difficult decision to hold off. We know how much each of you cares about this sport. Thank you so much for supporting the club.

SUNDAY (5/18), 1PM - JOIN US FOR A CLUB LUNCH HANGOUT! Instead of racing, we will be meeting at Slim Chickens in Lehi. Bring your minis and micros and let's talk all things RC. Bring your cool crawlers, minis, and other RCs to show off.

TONIGHT (5/17), 7pm - MOUNTAIN MIKE'S PIZZA, OREM will be the new home of the Happy Valley Racers who will also be running Losi NASCAR. The LRCC is holding a mock race tonight to help them develop their program. Everyone is welcome to stop by and meet the crew. If we get enough people and everything looks good, we may run a few races. This is a promising option for those who want to keep running NASCAR through the summer.

HEADS UP. The weather forecast keeps looking less favorable for Sunday. We may need to make the final call day-of. Keep up-to-date here on the latest.

ALTERNATE EVENTS:
- Friday 5/15, 7pm - Partnering with F.U Freddie's Raceway in Lehi to hold Micro-B, Mini-Z and Carpet Off-Road racing. Crawling is also an option. We are anticipating windy conditions, but we're going to go for it anyway.
- Saturday 5/16, 7pm - Mock NASCAR race setup at Mountain Mike's Pizza in Orem. We are exploring this spot as a possible venue and we're going to check things out. Anyone is invited, but we will not have a full program.
- Tuesday 5/19 5:30pm - Mini-Z Track Flip at Peak Hobbies. We heard you! We need to reconfigured the track. We'll be doing that and testing out the timing system. Anyone with a Mini-Z or Micro-B is welcome to drop by.
- Wednesday 5/20 - If crawling is your thing, the Happy Valley Crawlers host weekly trail runs. Check them out for details.
- Sunday 5/24 - Weather permitting, this will be our NASCAR spring season closer. It is also opening season day for BCU Hobbies NASCAR racing in Heber City. We are excited to see racers from both groups compete with each other.

Rocky Mountain RC Raceway has also announced several NASCAR classes and racing options, including on their impressive indoor dirt oval track. Please check them out!

Why do we care? Your RC car should NOT be sitting on a shelf. We want to give you maximum options to race and keep that car moving and the skills growing. We are having such a great time with the community we want to keep the fun rolling. Take any advantage you can, and we'll see you at the track!
